I know this is late but a lot of designers do end up using the same prints because most designers can't afford to get the exclusive rights to a print. The textile designers make the prints and then the designers choose from whats available. The textiles are usually out months, even a few years before a designer ever uses them. It's easy to predict what a future trend will be in terms of color or print if you're "in the know" with the textile industry.

These are SOOOO similar, I cannot get over it!...especially the first dresses...they're identical, styling and all!

It's usually easier to edit something once you've seen it done already.
 
That was my first though too with those pieces that were pleated in the waist and voluminous everywhere else.
