There's still something alluring and genuine and base about the thick strips Galliano used. As if the dresses were made of hand-ripped hide to be assembled for a ceremonial tribal gown. haha. It's raw and animalistic and kind of erotic. Reminds me of the Rodarte rib cages from Spring '09.

Both these dresses are Givenchy, the first is by Hubert and the second by Ricardo. The neckline is very similar and on the runway the gloves too.

Christian Lacroix Haute Couture Fall/ Winter 2008 and Rodarte Fall/ Winter 2007
I know that they don't really look alike, but the Lacroix dress reminded me of the Rodarte one immediately. The color is very similar (the similarity is more visible in the video...the style.com image is very dark), and the vertical waves of floaty chiffon is also similar.
