I don't feel like self-referencial designs should be on this thread. You can't put someone who is referencing his own work next to someone like Zuhair Murad or others who are just copying designers.

Yeah. It's not like a designer cannot revisit his or her own oeuvre.

^Agreed.

The Jason Wu/Valentino is quite disturbing. Nice catch.

I knew the dress looked familiar but couldn't place it. The similarity is insane. It's a damn near duplication.

this one really reminds me of Prada ss 09. The fabric and the asymmetric style is so familiar

Disagree. it's called the look-alike thread - which does not imply copying when you're talking about other brands. In the case of dear ZM & the usual suspects, there is implication of copying. But in-house design comparisons are just look-alikes and I feel there's a place for them here.

the first prada look instantly came to mind when i saw the ODLR dress. And i agree that the final gown belongs to the ugliest dress thread :D

WOW! that Versace collection was so bad that the Marchesa looks almost good.

Marchesa clothes always looks like they wanted to prove us that they know the techniques but it looks very cheap.

LOL gah Marchesa just doesn't disappoint. I agree they seem like they're out to prove they too can do couture or demi-couture (a question which nobody asked them, btw) but it just ends up being heavy handed. there isn't that Parisian finesse in the work. I don't know how else to describe it.
