I just watched that interview Salvador mentions: he and Mindy are doing a fitting with that dress and Salvador mentions it being "based on another version," but he's purposefully vague and leaves it at that. If he knew people were gonna find out, why not be totally upfront about it? My guess is he had his fingers crossed the source would go undiscovered.

There was no possible way that plan could've gone wrong, right? Nobody really remembers some no-name brand like Gucci, anyway.

I find it confusing by what "redesign" means?

It's the same damn dress!

He might have adjusted the fitting of an existing Gucci, though that is no more "redesigning" than when people take their jeans to a tailor to be taken up
