I can absolutely see the similarities between the cream baroque Balenciaga stuff and the ivory Empire dresses.

Strange, since they reference two seperate eras.

Recreating is such a nicer term than knocking off. Same goes for ABS. Neither of these companies (and a few others) would profit if it wasn't for taking other's ideas. Sad. So sad. As for similarities between major designers, well, yes, there are still "spies" out there believe it or not. AND when you are all represented by the same agents and attend the same trend seminars and hear that "baroque" is the next thing, well....what do you expect?

I look at it this way. The seminars are "more like guidelines anyway".... I take about 1/16th-1/8th of what they all are trying to predict or as I like to call it...dictate....and do what I do.

That is an interesting find; I never really pay attention to the similarities between small pieces like sunglasses. I wonder if it's just coincidental or if there really was some 'inspiration' going on in Karen Walker's mind.
