Well there has been quite a lot of talk about them on the Pete Doherty thread but I think it is high time they got their own thread. They have an amazing sound which is a lot less grimy, urban and authentic than their idols (and mine!) The Libertines' sound, it still pretty fun to listen to. Is anyone going to see them play on their tour next month?

oh my, its been a long time no one has posted here! but i love The Paddigtons! They are an amazing group! What has happened to them now, they haven't done anything for a few months have they. Was 'Sorry' their most recent single? Love this band Josh Hubbard and Tom Atkin are hot!

^ 50 To a £ is good, their catchiest song I think. Other suggestions:
She's Got It, Worse For Wear, Sorry.

Tom Paddington's singing is too effortless. Even after several listens of First Comes First, the singer's voice failed to grow on me, but I still enjoy a few of their songs.

I love the Paddingtons too- I agree Tom & Josh are the best. I like 21, 50 to a Pound & Some Old Girl.

Hmm. I saw them live last year and thought they were supremely crap. I mean their sound is basic but I didn't think it would be so bad... oh well.

I meet them too in a gig last December and it's true, they were really sweet. It was in a club in Barcelona and after the concert Tom and and another one of the paddingtons (I don't know his name) were wandering and talking with everyone who wants to talk with him. I also took pictures and I got the setlist, I think me and my friend were two of the very few people who knew who the paddingtons were that night.

:buzz: that's so cool!
it was similar on friday...a few ppl where looking but I was like, the only one who talked to him because no one recognized him!

Janie Jones single for Strummerville - 06 October 2006</SPAN>

Babyshambles and friends have recorded a cover of The Clash's "Janie Jones" for the Strummerville charity (www.strummerville.com) to be released by B-Unique Records October 30th on CD and 7".

The single features an amazing cast of 22 artists (in alphabetical oder:( Babyshambles, Cazals, Dirty Pretty Things, Goodbooks, Guillemots, The Holloways, Jack Penate, Jamie T, Jeremy Warmsley, Kid Harpoon, The Kooks, Ladyfuzz, Larrikin Love, Laura Marling, Light Speed Champ, Lisa Moorish, Macabees, Mystery Jets, Noisettes, The Paddingtons, The Rakes, We Are Scientists.

The 7" single includes a remix of "Janie Jones (Strummerville)" produced by Statik and features Lethal Bizzle, JME, No Mind and Talk Taxis.

Following the untimely passing of Joe Strummer his friends and family set up the Strummerville charity as a foundation for the production of new music. The main aim of the charity is to provide rehearsal space and studio time to individuals, groups and organisations to enable the productions of music by creative people who would otherwise not have the necessary funds to do so.

really looking forward to that! :buzz:
