Alrighty...so I'm in a dilema where far too often the pattern of a shoe will catch my eye, but I try it on and I think "The toe on this makes my foot look gargatuan". Is it just me, or are some pointy shoes just TOO pointy? I never really worried about the size of my feet before, but since I've gotten more into shoes and fashion...somehow I don't like my size 7 and 1/2 feet looking like a size 9, especially on my 5'5 frame. So, if any feels so inclined to put in their 2 cents and perhaps post some pictures of some shoes that are pointy but not DEADLY...it would be much appreciated...

I think pointed shoes with low heels make feet look huge - that's why I'll only wear pointed toes with a high heel. Even so, I'm not a fan of pointed toes - I much prefer round toes.

I think the point on this Louboutin is a nice shape (though I also think the heel should be higher

Also, these Manolos have a pointed toe, but not one that would make your feet seem huge, I think:

I agree Brian, those Louboutin's are just stunning.Altho I long points, those are a delight and would shorten the foot nicely.

Would love to see them in dark brown or even a mushroom suede.

I'm a 7 too and I hate it when shoes are too pointy and it makes my feet look huge =( I generally buy pointy heels that are a bit rounded at the tip.. Kinda like those marc jacobs =) Or I hide my long-looking-feet with pants..=D

The ones I really hate are those with the long skinny toe box. Look too much like clown shoes.

With few exceptions [Clichy, loafer heels and the classic 'Baby Doll'] I'm not wild about round toes.

A classic medium point is best.

No it's not just you. I hate them. My feet hate them. The rest of my body trips over them. It's an all-around kind of hatred. I will only go semi-pointy for cowboy boots, traditional pumps, and if I'm ever an elf for Halloween.
