The 'Porter by Net-A-Porter' Thead

Completely forgot about this magazine! And however nice Birgit looks here, the cover as a whole just about reflects the magazine's weak grip on the fashion print sector. Porter's not so secret weapons used to be a seasoned editor (who left) and the fact that they were the only ones who could instantly connect readers directly to e-comm via edits (Vogue launched VogueWorld earlier this year which is like the magazine version of 'See Now, Buy Now' and they're going hard at reader festivals and shopping events.) Porter is in dire need of an experienced EIC to either use dynamic visual direction as a unique selling point or come up with some new tech development.

Fabien Baron is still without a job! Just saying.

I guess that they changed the masthead and now it´s more confusing :ermm:

Not if you look closely, though. The format of their weekly is different (seasonal print edition is wider than this), the Porter logo is smaller, and there is less text.

^I noticed that in August, issues had "edit" as part of the title.

It started on that Cara Delevingne cover in September which they remove the 'edit' from the cover.

The first print edition is next year. Originally they'd stated it would be for Q4 2019 but guess editorial staff changes delayed it. Not sure if the print edition maintains the Porter name/branding as the previous print edition however!

She delivered as always but am not so sure about the styling here

The last couple of editorials are so similar!

I feel like The Edit used to be so good back in the days and I feel like it's been getting too boring and uninspiring lately... Maybe financial costs have been cut?

First Meisel and now Avedon... guuuuurl.

Btw, I'm not surprised considering how hard he tried to emulate Testino last year.

Luna would not have looked out of place in any Avedon-Versace line-up

Far better than most Vogue editorials I've come across over recent months (and reminds me of how much I miss Porter's print edition). You can always count on Luna Bijl and I'm not even mad at Giampaolo Sgura for taking inspiration from Richard Avedon's Versace campaign with Kate Moss.
