From the sculpted updos to the pointy little pumps, this is quite elegant and I'm not about to blame the Olsens for doing things that houses who have the historical cred to do aren't/haven't been doing for a while. If the creative directors of Jil Sander or Balenciaga don't think they should be outperforming a brand led by two former child actors when it comes to pristine white shirting or seemingly simple black dresses with interesting and yet flattering volumes, that's on them.
What The Row lacks is punch and liveliness overall - whether they are deciding not to show the actual show, limiting the palette to black and white, or showing a Philo-lite feather-front skirt as an attempt to have a 'fun' item in the collection, it all feels sort of inanimate and curated to the point of one not wanting to engage with it, unless you're a filthy rich woman who just wants her privacy and luxuriously minimalistic clothes without logos, actual colors or prints - which is very much what the twins are nowadays.
