I though that seeing as its practically summer I would start a thread on the sarong. I bought a beautiful one today. I'm interested how people here wear theirs?

I love sarongs ! That's all I ever seem to wear around the house in Summer. I can't tell you how many I have. I always buy a new batch when I go on hols each year.

My favourite way of wearing them is like a halter dress.....sort of hard to explain but I'll do my best...here goes. Tie the two corners of the shorter end together with a knot. Put the knot behind your neck and put your arms back through the hole, halter style. From the back, it should look like a halter dress. Bring the fabric together at the front to cover yourself. It will be all loose and floppy at this stage. From the back, grab the fabric just above waist level and bring it around to the front under your breasts, adjusting it to make sure your boobs are covered at the sides. There should be just enough fabric to tie a little knot, or pin it under your breasts. You can also put a pin in the front to avoid it coming open when you walk. It should end up looking like a V-necked halter dress that is gathered under the bust.

I like it them as a skirt. Pretty sarong Fashion Puss.

i loved these when i was younger when i got mine you got a little card with it instructing in all the different ways you could tie it. from dresses to skirts to shorts it was fun spending the day trying to figure out how to tie it:lol:

you dont have to buy a proper one anyway you could go and buy a long length of suitable fabric in any colour you like and neaten up the edges by hemming them. then ta da you have a sarong:flower:

I wear sarongs aroung the house when i can be bothered wearing clothes... just wrap it into a boob tube dress and tuck the end bit in... undies are optional :ninja:

I like them as they cover my legs, that or a kaftan are great beach cover ups for those who like me havent been blessed with thin legs :(

Where I am, a sarong is a piece of cloth where the two ends are joined. In the pics posted by fashion puss, that is a pareo ... but it's a really pretty one!

I would wear them, but i have no idea how to tie them....i am ashamed lol

Yeah I bought a really beautiful one when I was in Philippines...its my favorite one....

I'll take pics later of ways to tie it....I was bored one day and just played around and found at least 10 ways to it.
