I LOVE Rodarte and the cardi is beautiful. Though I'm kind of the opinion that my grandma could knit something very similar. She's a really good knitter and while I appreciate what they do is unique and the craftsmanship is great, I always felt their prices were too steep. But, if you can afford it (and don't have to run to your evil grandmother begging her to try and knit you a Rodarte knock off!) than it is beautiful

Finally bit the bullet and bought these "Twiggy" taupe patent flats from Forever 21--I've been watching them for weeks and decided to make the purchase after realizing only one size (my own) was left! They still cost $15, but I'm hoping they'll be worth the price.

I also bought two dresses and some jewelery in Oahu this past week, which I'll post later. Hawaii has some fantastic, albeit expensive, shopping opportunities!

Ha! That's about what my boyfriend thought when I showed him! He said it looked "like some holey thing an out-of-it grandmother knitted." I agree with the opinion that the price is somewhat ridiculous for very little (but very well knitted) thread, but unfortunately, I don't have a grandmother.

Bought a navy silk and cashmere cardi from Zara and a Mulberry wallet /purse (Continental). Will try and post pictures later.

Actually, I'm going to see if my grandmother can knit me a replica of the tights. I thought about it more though, and I think the cardi craftsmanship might be above even her. Simply because of the use of the multiple colors, the unconventional dropped stitches in places, multiple gauges, etc. So I think it does take a LOT of work. But probably not just 2k worth of work.

Rodarte is like the anti-establishment version of Chanel, so I guess it makes sense that their prices are comparable to the aforementioned...but still

Interesting...never thought of the label that way. I always considered it totally unique - not really comparable to any other line out there. I have decided, though, I'm keeping the cardi, and I promise I'll stop talking about it now.^_^

Looking forward to posting future purchases...;)

Compulsive boredom shopping this past week has yielded:

1. BCBG navy silk kimono dress from Belk
2. Kensie wool cardigan with looped detail cap sleeves, also from Belk
3. MAC makeup bags - every version they had at the counter, so 4
4. Bose in-ear headphones from Target - for running because my Bose on-ears rock, and iPod earbuds suck
5. Drawer jewelry organizers from the Container Store
6. Chrome Bones black leather carrier bag with grommets for my new toy Pomeranian
7. New toy Pomeranian
8. The Row white denim leggings from eBay

Finally went through and took photographs of the things I bought in Oahu, along with some other recent purchases. :p

Hawaiian Moon green floral dress

Hawaiian dress from Coco Cove

Floral minidress from Target (I didn't buy this in Oahu)

Two flower bracelets from the International Market Place

Puka shell necklace with blue flower

Keychain with my name in English and Hawaiian (I always buy a keychain when I travel somewhere.)

My Dole Plantation teddy bear--I wanted a Pineapple Penny stuffed animal (stuffed pineapple?), but I guess the Dole Plantation doesn't carry her now. :(

Photographed by me

I also won this 1960s silk blouse off eBay just now--since it was only $.99, I could hardly resist! :p

chauss, I have vowed to myself not to wear the Rodarte cardi until I fit back into my ideal jean size (only one more size left to go!), as I know this is the fastest and most effective way for me to lose those last few. [I gained a TON of weight a few months into my current relationship because my boyfriend is such a foodie, but HE can eat all day...] Also, as I live in the deep south and the cardi cannot be cleaned PERIOD because it's so delicate, I have only put it on once because even with the AC cranked up, I am on the top floor of our house, and it's HOTTT. But just as a teaser, here is the pic I snapped of it the day I got it:

It's like a dream... I said I would stop posting about it, and I promise this is my last one in this thread. :) Hopefully, in a month's time it will be in WAYWT, though!
