The Virgins are a American indie rock band formed in 2005 based in New York City, New York. They have toured with Jet and opened for Sonic Youth and Patti Smith. They are currently taking part in the Nylon Summer Music Tour , opening for She Wants Revenge, with Be Your Own Pet and Switches.

The Virgins were formed after a fashion shoot brought together Donald Cummings and Wade Oates to continue working on tracks Cumming had began, the two other members joined shortly after. The Virgins have gained popularity recently due to the CW show Gossip Girl featuring five of their songs in one episode[1] and recent participation in SXSW.[2]

Since their CD came out today, I thought I'd start a thread for them. Anyone else a fan? Favorite songs? I'm really looking forward to the Rich Girls video with Behati Prinsloo in it.

I didn't realize that Donald Cumming from the group was the same Donald Cumming with DNA. Interesting...but I guess it makes more sense now...the hype I always heard about them came from more fashion related people like Ryan Mcginley.

Now I feel like I should of known that earlier

^ I didn't know Donald was a model... I know Terry shot an editorial with him and Wade (is he a model too, now?) for Vogue Hommes. I doesn't surprise me though, most of Ryan McGinley's subjects have become models afterwards...

Back to the music, I can't stop listening to Rich Girls. From the first listen, I instantly became obsessed!

I saw them back in June, they're quite lacklustre in their performance. I saw them by accident....I followed some friends to She Wants Revenge because they wanted to go (I hate She Wants Revenge) but this band appeared, and I thought, these guys look really familiar, and guess who they were..The Virgins!
