The Zara 'Series' Campaign Thread

A lot of their stories that can no longer be found on Zara's website can be found here.

If only... They have the Fabien Baron on their staff who could easily whip up a successful publication for the customers. Something in the style of Loewe or Dior's publications. I believe even Chanel used to have one. Their issues would quickly become collectibles. With Steven Meisel and an impressive roster of younger photographers, as well as a great eye for skilled models, their magazine could be an even better new version of the Porter. They certainly have the money to do it, the connections are there, but the question is - do they want to do it? I can see it happening, possibly, in the future and I certainly wish it would.

I am also impressed that they collaborated with Baron and Frana Sozzani's son and got the license for that Peter Lindbergh tribute. Would never expect a brand such as Zara to pull off something like that.

Zara actually teased us at the end of last year with a video that showed a photobook they made with all of the productions, the studio collections, the inspiration for them and a list of all the models, photographers, stylists and makeup artists they worked with, though they repliead a comment saying that it was not for sale.

I'm pretty sure Zara's current party collection series is photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, at least I'm getting major I&V vibes from this:

Zara has launched its own in-house label which focuses on high-end design and artisanal skill. The aptly named Zara Atelier collection will drop two, limited-edition collections a year which offer an 'elevated, artistic interpretation of an iconic wardrobe staple' in what is essentially the high street brand's homage to couture.

The first Zara Atelier collection dropped on Friday, December 10, consisting of six elegant coats featuring opulent embellishments. The looks were captured beautifully by none other than the iconic Italian fashion photographer Paolo Roversi.

'The first capsule takes coats as its subject – and gives them the decadent treatment,' the company said in a statement.

'Spanning dreamy, decorative cocktail coats for evening and densely-worked poncho and overcoat styles for day, the six-piece outerwear capsule is replete with couture touches – a marabou-trimmed collar here, a sequin-embroidered lapel there – mixed with modern, wearable shapes.'

The capsule of Zara Atelier coats, which has been produced in very limited quantities, is crafted from premium fabrics and further elevated with opulent details including satin piping, marabou feather trims, intricate embroidery and elegantly sparkling sequins.

A Zara Atelier. Sounds like a big oxymoron, but if you consider their development during the last couple of years it feels almost like a natural next step? I don't know. Very confusing times.

I confess that I have a bit of an addiction for Zara overcoats and honestly who doesn't love opulent embellishments, so I already really love this. I do hope that they stepped up in terms of quality and comfort of their clothes for the Atelier capsule. Really curious how this is going to unfold, with the high quality of their lookbooks and promotional stuff they already have that high fashion factor but there's still something icky, like it looks more expensive than current hf brands but you know it's not. But kudos to them!

Must also say that Roversi's photos look beautiful and dreamy here, really selling me that winter fantasy. The coats are giving Erdem meets Burton's McQueen meets Etro. I'm digging it!

^ In regard to the quality, I certainly hope the quality is fantastic, as the coats will be in the £250-350 range, which isn’t much cheaper than some high fashion brands!

Is it only a matter of time before Zara has their own runway shows, or do they rely too much on high fashion brands for their looks? H&M has done it.

Antonio Marras be damned. This is so gorgeous. At this point Zara is putting out better collections than many "high-end" brands.

Emmanuelle's Zara debut is finally here! Can't say I'm surprised they booked her immediately.

Funny how Alt and Koller shoots can fit perfectly fine into their magazines, these expensive brands found shook.

I guessed it's only the matter of time before Zara establish an atelier in Paris and produce "couture".
