Throwing Fashion/Couture In Video Games

I don't know if any of you guys are familar with The Sims 2, a freakishly popular Life-Simulation Game, where you basically control a person. I have it, and a whole bunch of other people have it. I am also about to be an Advertising Major (or a Premedicine Major, as soon as I figure out what to do with my life, lol.) But anyway, I decided to take a dab at making advertisments for popular stores using the sims. And here is what I got so far:
i love what you did for dolce. they should use that.

Its really inspiring... Almost like the real thing when you think about it. You have to make the dresses, create the make-up and hair, design the venue and runway, remix the music, and of course choose the models!

Maybe I will try to make a dress one of these days for my Sims... ^_^

Totally, it was such an awesome process. :flower::heart:

Well, it took me about 2 weeks or so to mix the music because I'm really picky about that. To make what you saw in the show, it took about a month or two due to the detail. The actual filming & editing of the video took a little under a week. I'll be doing another one soon. ^_^

That fashion show is so awesome. Great job Salvatore. :flower:

Wow Salvatore.. that was amazing amazing amazing!! The music was awesome and the clothes were great!! If I still had the Sims 2 on my computer I'd be begging you to make those pieces downloadable... AMAZING JOB!!

Well guys, it has been quite a while since I updated this thread. Here are the latest pictures I made: The first one is for Victoria's Secret, the next one for Vera Wang, and the last one for Hermes.

i'm with you. for all the reasons you've stated and more.

I understand where you're coming from. But in defense of the "virtual world", videogames to me are a way to escape reality and fuel imaginations, just like art, fashion, music, movies and whatnot.
All these things aren't necessarily tactile either, but they create stories and feelings, something that videogames is more than capable of doing.

Frankly I find this slightly negative attitude towards videogames as being a lesser form of entertainment as tiring. Of course it's virtuel and doesn't "exist" as such, but on the other hand so is everything else. You put in effort and emotions when you read a book and you feel the characters are real even though they are completely nonexistant, it's pretty much the same with videogames, it might even be more personable in games because you can end up being very involved in your characters.

im such a gamer and i always find it very interesting how new videogames incorporate fashion to their characters, with the newer technology more and more details are added to the faces and the clothing too. its obvious this come from a designer that knows how the fabrics behave, the movement etc. i do think digital art is just another form of art, its just not a "touchable" one. i dont think of it as something without a soul, the artist is the one with the soul not the piece of art itself.
