I admit it, I've always loved tiaras, since I was a little girl. They are my favorite piece of jewlerry and I would readily forfeit wearing any other, just to wear one, and it's not about being royalty, it's just because tiaras rock.

You can wear a tiara on your wedding, you can probably wear a tiara on your bachelorette party evening (as the party queen), and maybe at some kind of very formal events where men are wearing tuxedos (what kind of events would those be, anyway? The Dashing Prince doesn't seem to hold too many balls around here these days it seems!)

Are there any other excuses to wear a tiara?

I heard that at some schools you're only allowed to wear them for Prom or Homecoming if you're on the court...and at others it's allowed but very stigmatized.

I love tiaras also, I love wearing them and I have three right now but am always looking for more. My usual excuse is if it's my birthday, or if I have something momentous-such as when my One-Act play was performed last year, I'll wear tiaras.

I made my friend wear one on her Birthday the other day @ work. It was pretty hilarious!

I covet a Mikimoto one with pearls like they have in the Miss USA pageants...

I wore one I found in a prop box in school for the day. Felt a little silly, but it was fun. :D

I'm biased about tiaras. I like those old photos of [elegantly dressed] princesses wearing tiaras, but as for myself I do not know. I don't know where I would wear it, and how I would avoid looking like I am going to a prom or trying to look like a princess. I don't like the cheap versions either, if I'd buy a tiara it should be antique. I feel this might be done well in rare occassions, but otherwise I think it might look like a slash between a teenbop princess/costume party attendant. I don't think it should be worn with casual clothes, and I am not sure if it works in the modern times.

But this is just my two cents, I respect others opinions too :flower:

i love tiara and happen to not be a prom queen, bride, miss america, etc, etc...i don't know what others think of them but i love wearing them and do all the time. i think it goes with my personal style, and if you know me you know i'm not trying to be a diva or princess, they are just silly. tip for the beginner tiara wearer, find a tiara that is your hair color or very similar and you are bound to feel more comfortable, save the neon tiaras for thr pros lol

Well it's simple: either you can afford the real deal and you look like a goddess or you can't and you look like Paris Hilton.
My advice: start saving.
Here some nice examples.

This is just my completly honest opinion but, I'm sorry, unless you're royalty, i don't think anyone should wear them.... *ducks for cover*

I love the 4th pic Harumi posted :flower:

never have worn a tiara myself and can't really imagine doing it but they are pretty ^_^

Think of it as jewellery for the head.... I have a vintage art nouveau one that I like to wear with really mussed up hair and loose muslin dresses and white patent brogues to contrast the decorative with the simple

I  tiaras!
But I unfortunately dont think there are many occasions to wear them.. :ermm:

I got one when I got married & have worn it to a Christmas Party (Its gold-coloured with a leaf design)

Those are beautiful! Sometimes I lurk around on tRF and the royal jewels is one of my fave sections. :crush:

Personally, I think only royalty should wear them, not even nobility- 16+ royalty at that, little princess just don't look right in them. I am very picky about tiaras! But I think it is sort of cute to see a scenester in a two doller tiara from Target's kids section from time to time.
