Tom Ford F/W 2025.26 Paris

but with that pencil skirt situation he was talking about, succeed he did not...

Half a second of Ludovic de Saint Sernin trauma, especiallly with her arms crossed.
But overall a very solid collection, elegant but slightly too austere for my perception of the Tom Ford brand.
It lacks a hint of tackiness, and some baby oil.

i thought it was dark, a very evident nod to TF himself but not sexy at all....? but maybe my perception of sex has changed idk. Id like to think that TF himself would take the plunge and create something EXCITING for us, here you can tell HA was careful and trying to pay some sort of homage

I don’t hate it but it does lack the “sex” touch that is part of the Tom Ford vocabulary. It’s almost as of HA (who is a very sexy man himself) was feeling a little shy in here, it’s just a little too conservative.

In a way it’s nice seeing a brand like Tom Ford land to a real talented designer that won’t try to intellectualise the codes, we don’t need another Alaia situation.

I’ll hold my judgement for maybe his second collection once HA is settled in properly.
Have the studio been fully moved to Paris?

Yes it's like staying in the cuck chair instead of joining the orgy.

I think this is a solid debut! Some really beautiful formal looks. It’s very lush and indeed more European, which I think is right for the brand and its further elevation. Some of the dresses felt a bit clunky in construction and I find the hair and make up way too forced.

Sexy non the less

i also didn't like those colorful jackets and dresses... it felt very ... cheap? but then again is it the styling that i dont like or my expectations of what TF under HA shall be like thats making me say this?
I think we should revise our expectations, TF under HA can't be as horny and louche as the previous. Our era is much more puritan.
But can someone please explain all the Francis Bacon moodboard (vogue.com), and the houndstooth on the ground ?

It's funny to hear people say "this isn't Tom Ford because it is missing x y z" but when the previous designer did those things, it wasn't moving the brand forward.

Tom Ford no longer designs for this brand. Haider does. We already knew he would infuse his own codes with some codes of Tom Ford. The Tom Ford brash in your face sexiness is perhaps not right for the moment, so why try and do that?

The point is to move the house forward and make it work for today. Regurgitating the past shows of Tom would have been pointless, especially because of why Peter Hawkings was let go.

Sure, I could do with a little more sexiness, but, personally, I think this was a great debut.

That python coat! Those leather shirts!
The gloves!
That croc tshirt!
My god, do we need to cut an arm to buy it?

He joined in September so he definitely designed a Prefall. I’m curious to see the whole offering.

I think there’s a story on the show. Some models looked like they came out of somewhere and others looked like they were going in.

Maybe he was studying the cut of the blazers.
The cut is still very Tom Ford, with a strong shoulder and strong lapels. Maybe more gentle…

It's a good debut for sure, but that was kind of expected with a talent like Haider, I expected also some unexpected and a wow surprise, which I did not find.

you hit the nail on the head!
i miss what fashion was back in the TF time. it screamed freedom, sex, and it reeked of chaos, smoke, debauchery.
it was thrilling to watch and you wanted to buy if not all of it but the majority of it and there was no doubt that it would suit your body and energy and vice versa. i dont have this feeling from Haiders clothes in general (forgive me, perhaps im not too intellectual), and i dont have it from his rendition of TF, even without knowing that he is now creating for tom ford the brand.

I think Haider is one of the very few designers I actually can’t stand (also Raf Simons). He is so pretentious, so corny and so intense. He thinks he is an artist for sure, he tries to come across as tortured and poetic. I can’t.

That said, I think it was okeyish as a HA collection. Zero Tom Ford though. But it’s impossible to do Tom Ford if you are not Tom Ford (well, the previous guy did it actually). It’s just too much of a recent brand. It doesn’t even make sense.

There were some good garments here and there but it feels just like that, like simple cute garments. No fashion. Like a tone down show from him in 2010.

To me they are the opposite as designers. Tom Ford is all about hedonism, feeling beautiful, sexy, energy… HA designs for ugly women (which is ok) that actually want to be ugly (which is also ok), women that are not sexy deliberately, probably hate men and kind of believe that are better than the rest in an intellectual way. The TF woman thinks she’s sexier than the rest but just that.

Loving the bowie suits 1 2 the whole collection is quite 70s bowie but that severe station to station/young americans phase.

I really want this dress to work on regular women cause I love it.

I need to say the show was not bad but the choreography was a mess. what happened to walk, strike a pose and gtf out? You had three, four models walking closely to each other, no posing, all very rushed.

Julia Nobi's dress had a problem. Or maybe not, if the woman want to cause a certain reaction. :brows::rofl:

harsh words! I appreciate the honesty.

I'm curious about the future embassadors. Will Jlo wear his designs? Or Juliane? Cause I don't want to see entire collections dedicated to Tilda Swinton.
