I'm desperately looking forward to trying Tom's menswear line...well, wait until next year...though...

i loved Tom Ford's Gucci designs so much! he inspired me for ages. but i agree with all those who think he's been overexposing his giant ego. still, i'd love to see what he'll be up to in the future!

Marcelle is listed as 179.0 cm (5 ft 10-1/2 in). So I'm guessing Tom's around there.

I thought his men's line was supposed to have been out by now. Does anyone know what's going on with that?

It got pushed because of construction delays in NYC...perhaps he didn't grease the right palms.

^ Yep. His store just finished demolition, according to my sources. My concern is...Don't they have FW merchandise manufactured already, what's going to happen to it?

Can somebody who lives in New York take a picture of the emplacement of his shop ?
Or can I find picture of the nearby shops on the Yellow Pages ?

Thanks for your reply!

Tom Ford store will be at 845 Madison Avenue; I found some info on the net:

RKF NAMED EXCLUSIVE AGENT FOR 5,529 SF OF RETAIL SPACE
AT 845 MADISON AVE.

Firm to Lease Space Beneath Luxury Residential Co-op
New York, Dec. 27, 2004 —Robert K. Futterman & Associates, LLC (RKF), the nation’s leading independent real estate firm specializing in retail leasing and investment sales, has been selected as exclusive retail leasing agent for 5,529 square feet of retail space at 845 Madison Ave.

Robert Futterman, CEO, and Joshua Strauss, managing director, of RKF are representing building owner 33 East 70th Street Corporation Co-op in leasing retail space located within the luxury residential co-op. The retail space, located on the northeast corner of Madison Avenue and 70th Street, encompasses 3,580 square feet on the ground floor and 1,949 square feet of lower-level space. Fashion retailer Gianfranco Ferre previously occupied the space.

“The retail space at 845 Madison Ave. is located in the heart of Madison Avenue’s most exclusive corridor,” said Strauss. “This is the best retail corner on Madison Avenue, with extraordinary frontage space and a location that offers terrific exposure. The site presents a retailer with a tremendous opportunity for a flagship store.”

Neighboring retailers include Dolce Gabbana, Donna Karen, Versace, Cartier, Gucci, Channel and Hermes. The 845 Madison Ave. building is located just one block from The Rhinelander mansion, Ralph Lauren’s Madison Avenue flagship store.

Ugh, I liked some of the stuff he did at Gucci and YSL but there's something off about him. He just seems so calculated and banal...

thanks rive gauche, glad too see him back.. & you too ;)
I miss his sleek edgy touch..

Oh wow it's a hop-skip-and-a-jump from YSL and Gucci...Hmm, YSL is the next block up and I think Gucci might be the next block down, or even the same block.

Im soooooo excited!!!!!!

Women are going to be buying his menswear left and right. I know women wearing Tom Ford suits is going to be huge much like women shopping Dior Homme is now. I know women always dabble in menswear but if his designs are anything like what he used to show for Gucci were going to see a lot of ladies over at that Madison avenue store. Aesthetics have no gender.

I also miss his sleek sexy take on clothing. Sex is missing in fashion right now. Its starting to reemerge slowly but its not the same. Fashion and sex are like peanut butter and jelly, yeah you can have them individually but lets face it they're best together.

Luxx, i wonder how you reconcile these views of sex in fashion and your signature line by Theyskens? theyskens is like the opposite of Tom:flower:
