I thought there would be a thread about this. I want to know more!!!! I read a little article in Vogue but thats about all I have heard. I want reviews and pics and where to buys!!!!

Cheers Hanne you're a star! I wonder if I will be able to buy online? I can't really justify a trip to London for a lipstick!

Temptalia reports:
Tom Ford will launch twelve shades of Private Blend Lip Color – April in Europe, June in the U.S. – revolving around classic lip colors. In the U.S., we’ll see it launched in approximately 30 doors, including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Bergdorf Goodman.

I hope Selfridges or Harvey Nics sell it. I can get to those.

I am definitely going to buy Black Orchid, Pure Pink & Smoke Red. Quite possibly Cherry Lush, assuming it isn't an orange-red.

I'd get Blush Nude & maybe something coral too - these seem really special ^_^ Deborah, thanks for posting that article, I'm so relieved there's no shimmer in them!

This morning I pre-ordered 3 on Bergdorf's website...Black Orchid, Pure Pink & Cherry Lush. I went back to look at them "just for fun" a few minutes ago...and they're already taken off...Neiman-Marcus, too. I wonder if that means they already sold out? My order is still standing and says they will arrive by May 24th.

I just tried some of these yesterday, they have the colors out and you can pre-order them. They are DIVINE though I suppose that at 45 bucks a pop they'd have to be.

Hanne and I browsed these lipsticks today at Harvey Nics. They were really nice but I would forewarn those planning on purchasing online that the colors can be quite different on your skin than the tube. For example, the one that comes across quite red is actually quite a bright pink when on. The composition of the lipsticks felt quite nice (i.e. very smooth) but to be honest, I thought they were kind of overpriced for what they were. They were 35 pounds which is about $45-50 USD and I think for that price, you can find similar colors and quality at a lower price.

Hanne - what were your final thoughts?

I haven't trid them but I do think that's a lot for a lipstick too. But that's Tom Ford everything he does is meant to be "uber luxury" I think. He seems to be obsessed with the idea

Hi Meg ;)
I agree.. the colors weren't so unique that one couldn't find something identical from other labels..

Bought some of these the other day, I don't mind being resident guinea pig when it comes to something like this. The lipsticks aren't worth the 45 dollar pricetag but there is no such thing as a lipstick that would be, compared to the $60 bucks Cle de Peau is trying to charge I think the Tom Ford lippies aren't so bad for this segment of the market. The colors aren't 100% original but they are very good and last all day. For anyone with darker skin (I'm a MAC NC45 and my skin is very golden so finding colors is a bit tricky for me) , the limited shade selection is a bit annoying - there are a lot of really coral shades in the line and that just isn't my thing... I suppose though that they could work on women who are paler.

I would say that the Smoke Red is a gorgeous color, maybe the most memorable one in the line.
