Tom Ford Resort 2026 Paris

And 1998, there are a lot of references from Gucci s/s 1998. And the metal heel stilettos from f/w 1997-98...too literal!

It’s like when Michele referenced Tom and Tom himself had to reclaim his own work.
The metal heel stiletto he used to do at his own brand too but the moment Michele joined Gucci, the references became more and more present and obvious.

Tom Ford at Gucci is 10 years so there’s not so much to reference because his collections were so direct in their POV but I hope that overtime, Haider will go deeper or find less obvious things to reference.

No red velvet suit with blue shirt so far…

pretty convincing for me tbh. I think the casting and beauty elevates it, they actually manage to look cool and sophisticated and not tryhard or uninspired. the ‘fools gold’ croc silks are really appealing. not my style, but i like it a lot.

its coming the red suit i feel it :)

to me its ok at the start of your own brand like TF did but then what's the point in doing a another brand to only ref the work of that Designer when he was at another brand not under his name.

to me its about design hygiene and discipline ..these tropes are low hanging fruit TF did many stuff also in commercial collection i was shopping during his era you can do thing in spirit of his brand that has links with his past creative director ship but it should be a wink.

the metal heel Gucci Fall 1997 by Tom Ford redonein Gucci Spring 2026 by Demna is the next TF milking design :-) 1..2 ...3
TF the brand is has it already for a while but vaccarello its pumping season after season variations of these mix of styles ...like fashion too much of a good thing becomes cheap fast.

even on amazon or temu you find copies with no brand name like the oversized shoulder its part of the IG pick me cool modern girl kitt.
thats my point.

dear lord i remember this street style picture that a while ago many moons ago lol did i remember her in Givenchy ad
what happend to her/Leonor Scherrer she disappeared from fashion.
She turned to funeral wear last I heard

All Im seeing is the power dressing cold sex is so old and ancient we have 3 pairs of the same shoe. Like I said. This entire power dressing thing and all the items that came from it are dead dead.

This collection has a lot of power dressing which is fine bc power dressers do need somewhere to shop. But generally it all needs to be urgently exited. Power dressing is Toms code which is why hes most at risk of becoming the new Halston. Haider is doing a good job at keeping the Halston at bay so far.

Also seeing visible underwear in 1998 underscores how I never want to see underwear through clothing again in my life. Another tom code that is super dated ….

I think from the mens collection i would prob only get a few button downs and a leather jacket and thats about it. The cut of the pants are undesirable to me the bow blouses are nondescript in a bad way. That zoot suit green double breasted jacket is crazy.

I think the mens suiting shapes are unexpected and maybe not in a good way. The teal velvet tuxedo looks messy. The legs and break are absolute disasters for a 12k tuxedo.

I think the jackets all need to be shortened and the hip defined - they look like the face is falling forward and down. This isnt a Le Smoking ! All the pants all need to be pulled at all dimensions. Then those pants worn with the denim shirt - with all that weight on the back of the thigh. Another mess.

HA for tom ford has been a great match so far. It feels really elevated, very fitting to tom ford but from an icy angle. I personally love it.

The menswear is great. I like the suits, the robes and particularly when Haider does muted colors. Very chic.
Clothes for the office, clothes for more casual situations, it’s perfection.
My only concern is those strong colors, something that Tom used to do too… I’ve been to Tom Ford menswear stores, I have seen a lot of women like me advise their husbands or boyfriends or whatever on things they should take and I have seen men trying to wear those colors…
You needs to have a real personal sense of style to wear it well.

It’s not for everybody. And those very agressive colors works when you are a colorist yourself. So many people makes the mistake of having an all black look with an agressive blue or red jacket. I don’t think it works on men…

Nevertheless, it’s good. And at least they have a Parisian store.

I like that he has found his way to do eveningwear at Tom Ford in a different way. No more psychedelics black and white dinner jackets. The same way that in womenswear, no more sequined column dresses.
