Tom Ford S/S 2022 New York

Not sure if I like it or not, seems like one of those collections that will look super glam when styled on celebrities and in print or on video with some movement. All the colour and shine on the runway makes it difficult to analyse each look individually. It looks like Tom Ford for Gucci and Armani got married and got a teenage daughter with her own personal style.

OMG, yes finally Tom Ford is back. Very Yves Saint Laurent S/S 2004 but with more colors.

This is all I'm asking from TF, ultra-luxurious textures, excellent tailoring, just a right amount of vulgar. And the men are also shining equally to the women, and not just some fillers look.

No doubt this is my favorite TF collection for a long time. This is how you close the very underwhelming FW.

While watching the livestream, I honestly was ok about the clothes (even though capri pants remain awful) but the colors were too much for me, chartreuse, turquoise and hot pink get tired fast! I'll admit the shoes were absolutely killer in lavender...

I turned on the B&W option on my phone and unsurprisingly, I like it a whole lot better, in a palette of neutrals it would take the title of "Best Show in New York" but, call me an apostate, I prefer Altuzarra as of right now.

Let’s say that when it comes to Shine, I’m more Lanvin SS2014…
But I don’t hate it. I think it’s actually fun and I get the intention…
Tom being Tom, it’s very self referential…From his time at Gucci (SS2004 and FW1996) and from his recent work. This collection seems to be an evolved version of his two previous SS collections.

We are very much « Out » but not out of the pandemic so I get the tension between comfort and tailoring, between casual and formality. I love the Capri pants in velvet and in simple black wool. I love the windbreakers/parkas..very FW2002 Gucci. And the sequined shirt on Joan is fabulous.

I’m not so sure on the styling tho but I think editors can make this look interesting and I hope the campaign will deliver

It’s tacky, slightly vulgar but it’s obvious…So I can totally enjoy it…unlike the denim and shorts from the FW2021 collection.

It’s not my favorite Tom Ford collection but it’s glamorous, undeniably Tom Ford without a bunch of references from Helmut Lang, Celine or BV and I appreciate that.

Tom Ford and Michael Kors are almost the winners by default of this NYFW…simply because they managed to do their own thing. I respect that!

Fantastic collection! It's definitely the type of tacky glam that not many designers can pull of, but it turned out amazing here. I love the metallics and the shiny colors used. I'm very excited to see how this is styled in print as well! No hopes for the campaign though, seeing as the past couple of seasons had such dull and forgettable ones.

the full gold and silver looks for Men are TDF.
unbelievable!

The last looks on Joan and Gigi reminded me of the last looks of the Alberta Ferretti ss18 collection, same models too!!

I like some of these, I think the runway lighting makes them look a lot worse than they actually were. I saw some backstage pictures or them in a different environment and they look far better.

The colours, the sequins, yes yes yes! This show gave me so much energy. Love when Tom Ford does....well, Tom Ford. :P

For the first time - i really love the menswear! Giving me hints of Haider at Berluti but much more shiny.

He desperately needs a new stylist. It’s all wrong. Not a hair out of place, the super sl*tty stilettos, the necklaces, the makeup…it’s all so ghetto, Insta-thot, tacky celeb looking

I feel like I wouldn’t even mind the collection itself if it were just loosened up a bit…let the girls hair down, natural, in their face a bit, no jewelry, maybe a round-toe chunky pump, or a slipper?

It’s just too much as it is.
