Tom Ford S/S 2026 Paris

The whole soundtrack was Bowie btw.
So what we got in the livestream was copyright free.

If that electro pulse was a last minute replacement for the show’s original soundtrack, then that sound producer deserves a raise. Sometimes music is not the best to accompany the visuals (especially bops of the moment). Dries' or A.F. Vandevorst’s presentations that amplifies the echoes of the stacked heels against hardwood floors of a long hall was eternally more unsettling, more atmospheric, and more hauntingly memorable than any piece of music could have done.

(You know, I’d never thought Mona was capable of such a presence on the runway. And so effortlessly poised, graceful and womanly. She’s a beautiful woman of course, just usually so juvenile. But here, when she gives a soft smiles, that is a moment that ignites the smoulder, the confidence and the sensuality of a renewed Tom Ford woman. And amongst a cast that is so strong, and hitting their mark so precisely, Mona’s warm smirk did it for me.)

Also, just thought of what the soundtrack reminds me of...

One thing I will say for Club Rectum, they are very good about fire safety. There is always an extinguisher on hand when you need it!

(I remember reading when this movie came out that the soundtrack was "spiked with" police sirens designed to elicit nausea.)

He used Bowie the same way that he used Nick Cave in his debut show.
Just the sound of his voice during the entire show and the whole song for the finale.
But indeed quite well executed.

I mean, Haider with Tom Ford is showing his ability to be a full creative director. He is taking baby steps but he is taking the right steps. We saw what wanting to scream loud gave at Valentino.

^^^ So it was “Heroes”: Imagine this show with his rendition of “Wild Is The Wind” (while Tom himself would have used Johnny Mathis' original for his Gucci), I’d be a swooning mess on the floor. Nick Cave was wondrously utilized for Haider's debut— like this ascension of the spirit from the earthbound to the transcendent. And I adore Bowie, but I like this throbbing pulse so much for the collection. Sometimes, words are so unnecessary, even useless.

I’m completely seduced by the presentations and the RTW offerings two collections in— no need to burn slow, just keep burning surely. I only covet an item or two, and I’m good. Haider’s Tom Ford is that fashion equivalent of my the man I’ve been holding out for-- for a long long time, and I’m invested in the relationship. I don’t need anyone else.

It’s a very bold reinvention of TF image. And I’m here for that. I’m also sure their beauty business will be on fire. The colors of the collection are so beautiful, I wanna buy makeup :)

^Tom Ford is a regular on the end of season sale racks at the major department stores so we'll see if that continues with Haider in a few weeks. Unless you are looking for menswear then you're out of luck unless there's an outlet in your country.

The round toes pumps are fantastic!
Love the polka dots and surprisingly the dress on Vittoria is not that expensive.

I have not even seen the FW collection IRL and I have to get something from it first.

I don’t know how department stores did their buying for the first season as Zegna wants TF to go back to a more exclusive distribution.

If so, I’m not sure the first collection may go to sales.
They have a lot of Tom Ford and Tom Ford by both Hawkings and the team that will be up for discounts and ready for outlets.

Clearly the aura of the brand is not hurt but it would be clever for them to not have sales for the next 2 years.

The overall cut and fabric refresh are absolutely needed - there are some truly exquisite pieces here. But a few of the show looks, like the four perforated trench coats, cross into the unwearable. Could we not have at least gotten a lining? Tom would never have sent something so impractical down the runway.

The shoes miss the mark, aside from those rounded toes, which actually feel fresh. The pink silk plissé top, though - that’s a timeless staple every woman should own.

Still, Tom Ford’s aesthetic reads as dated. Even this reinvention carries the residue of that old, hyper-sexualized energy. The thongs and sheer looks just don’t resonate in 2025 - when anyone can view whatever they want from a screen, shock-value seduction feels irrelevant. Tom Ford’s brand of cold, detached sex appeal has lost its allure. The new luxury is intimacy - the kind you can’t buy.

The laser cut leather jackets and coats that mimick python skin are clearly the stars of the collection.
The rest can be thrown in the bin for me. Tasteless and borderline tacky, especially the black ultra sheer floor length dresses.

I think the coldness is more Haider and his European approach than Tom Ford the brand.

He is very limited and too serious.

The trunk show highlighted how disjointed this collection is. Haider's own were always very coherent, so maybe it's because of the more product oriented approach. Shoes and bags are either boring or just bad. They were much stronger under Ford, often better than clothes.

Too serious is a bad thing? Very limited in bad clothes making I suppose?

Too much of anything is bad. He has always been a very serious designer, but now that he designs for Ford some humor wouldn't hurt. His work tends to feel contrived. Even when he tries to add a bit of bad taste the result is often try hard. He is amazing at tailoring, but very limited when it comes to dresses and skirts.

Re: pricing. I am intrigued. For instance, a pair of wool-silk pants are $1,800, less than Dior charges. Then you see pants in silk or in another case, viscose priced at $3k range.
You also see a silk blazer in the $5k range then another wool/silk blazer at $7,000. I wonder what the (structural?) differences contribute to such price discrepancies?

This skirt reminds me of Ford's China inspired YSL collection. They were in silk, but the silk skirt was priced much higher back then than this one today, as I recall.
