When modeling career is over it is also not the end of the world

. I agree with many of the posts here. The girls go on to do different things other than modeling. There's also life after the fact.
What troubles me is that for instance (I was force to watch ANTM coerced by a friend because I was to attend the partay

... and said I should at least know something about the show before I was to hobnob with the peeps there .....

)... sorry for going off tangent but anyhoo.... what troubles me is that the young girls seem to think that if they don't get into modeling it's the end of the world for them. I don't know if they were acting , over dramatizing or serious but what they have said and their reactions to such is not far from reality. There are girls who think that way. It sends the wrong message. Yes, the modeling world is full of glitz and glam. You get to meet the rich and the famous. You go to great parties and travel the world... especially the most exotic. People will cater to you. You're NOTICED. But modeling isn't a long life career. For the select few they ARE able to do all that (parties, meeting celebs etc...) but it's those that are lucky enough to be in the business because they have a 'special' gift that the masses gravitate to. And it is temporary for the most part. It's like an artist-- the masters, they have a gift. Not everybody can be them. Even if many can draw it is only the select few that go on to be noted and deemed as the master.
Always remember you are NEVER too old to go back to school. Don't believe when people say you're too old, you have lost all those years etc... college is for young (adults) and old. Take NYU for instance, there are more adults enrolled in undergrad studies than ever before. Even if you want to go to grad school it is never too late. There are many that do. Most of them are referred to professional students. They just love it. Education is power.
And a good support of parents/families is also the key to a smooth transition back to normalcy of the real life. The best thing that can come out of modeling is that you can always look back and tell your kids and/or grandkids you were once a model and a beautiful one at that B)
