Topshop Unique S/S 09 London

WOW what a mess. :o  i loved their s/s08 collection....it was fresh, modern, cool, mature....this is so ugly, i cant believe the same team could possibly create one collection that was so cool and another that is this ugly...

how annoying is it that when you go on gettyimages there are more pictures of the runway focusing on peaches than on the actual clothes? for god's sake who cares.

I say I hate it now but when it comes round to s/s it probably will have grown on me :/

sorry but this influence had to be posted!!

I actually thought those were images from the fashion show.:ninja:

The styling is awful reminds me of Laura, and that's enough said, but in itself I'm sure I'm going to like some pieces when they hit the store.

But I have to say that after the boring feast that is always NYFW, I'm glad to see some tackiness.

hahahh i was right it looked 1986 Bananarama lol

Very ugly  It reminds me of how Laura Hollins dresses.

Now there's a great look :ninja:

Honestly this is awful :yuk:

I can't think of how to describe it. Only that theres a little bit of sick in my mouth

...This is a shame but I think a few can be considered quite cute if worn by the right people and mixed & matched -at a glance. If you stare at them as a whole... TACKY. Definitely not what I like to wear (although some pieces looks like something I wear when I sleep). Just very oldies and the thing they put on the models hair just screams all kinds of wrongness. Is Laura Hollins the creative director of this collection or what?

OMG the 80s are back?! O_O :S Cue all the hipsters fawning over this collection.

I agree that some of these dresses would look nice if styled without greasy, hankerchief-laden hair. I especially like the grey, suede-looking mini.

I can imagine Henry Holland wearing a lot of it.

I am really sick of the Shoreditch 1987 look. It is not kooky, nor clever.

hi-

could you explain this for those of us who don't live on the isle of britain please?...
:flower:

*not the 1987 part...the shoreditch part...
:P

hahaha...
i've been babbling incessantly all summer about the bananarama influence that is all over the place...
i call it the 'cruel summer effect'...

:P...*i even put it in my sig because it is SO pervasive...*

* BUT...
can someone please explain who is laura hollins
???..

^
Laura Hollins is Agnes Deyn's real name, softgrey...

I'm so over this look, btw...

I don't find most of the stuff to be wearable, but then again, I rarely feel that way about runway stuff. I think the shows should be taken for what they are, and not think that someone would wear the outfits just. like. that. I think the pieces are fine if they are mixed and matched.

Shoreditch is an area in East London with a high concentration of hipsters, scenesters, musicans, artists, fashion designers, media crowd etc. The area only became uber-trendy in the 90s though :P
