I've gotten the impression that you either love or hate Emin's work. What is your opinion?

I'm somewhere in the middle. Some things I love (like her portraits) and other pieces just don't make any sense, artistically, to me..

well i can say i love the scratchy drawings
and they can be improved on and used in more ways

i liked her "bed" exhibit. too bad the exhibit was destroyed by a fire.

i think she's a great conceptualist artist.

she's a very brainy lady. i wish more people paid attention to her in the US.

don't you think it's her personality rather than her art that people either love or hate?

personally i think she did a lot for crafts in art and, like gius, i am very fond of her 'scratchy' drawings.

I think that’s true. I also agree that’s she more intelligent than people give her credit for, her column in the Independent is always interesting

I love her work i think this thread needs a bump .. i studyed some of her work in college once and i managed to speak to her about it .. mostly about the advert she did with vivienne westwood .. shes a really nice funny totally mental person but doesnt that make her all the more interesting ????

overhyped

but than again...im more of a stuckist than a conceptualist
