TSE by Tess Giberson S/S 08 NYC

The only thing I love about this collection is the footwear! The blue especially! ^_^

:woot:

.....the one I've been waiting for! This is so wonderful. I feel like Tess is really starting to come out in these collections, especially in all the amazing textures.

erm....i actually think it's alot closer to the aesthetics of haider ackermann...

completely agree with that, laika. i think it's taken her a bit of time to get comfortable with this position coming from complete independence....it's really great to see this happening finally.

i dont think its pilati

pilati does weird volumes , this is more jil sanderish i would say but glamed up and its pretty nice..clean , a hint of retro , futuristic fabrics and feminine

love the silhouettes and combination of textures. and those shoes....!!

I am really glad to here that, because when you mentioned Haider Ackerman, I thought you were disagreeing with me!

Most of the pieces look unflattering and awkard

not crazy about the knitted skirts but the palette and the shapes are gorgeoussss. loveloveLOVE the navy blue shirt/vest with the mustard skirt. must try that right away!

gracias muchas, Mullet! always on target ;)

I don't see anything intello like Akerman in the draping/cutting, personally.
It falls more in the Calvin Klein school of design in everyway. Almost could be interchangeable, really.
It also isn't dissimilar to the Preen collection in its use of floaty silks, nuanced neutrals loose shapes and play on textures...

oh I know, I crushed on it the moment I saw it.. plus the knits underneath..

thanks for the close-ups, kiddo!.. ..I love the airiness in this look. and it seems marvelous in detail, especially the fabric of the skirt..

that is actually culottes...silk to be precise...

LOTS of silk...

it actually looks like old Donna Karan..so the Calvin Klein reference isn't far off really...i think it's a MIX...

the silhouettes, the long tank tops...the dropped shoulder and armhole...the epaulettes and drawstrings... and esp the draping and gathering on the skirts just screams 80's donna karan...but that was her best time...
...

i'd love to have most of it...

*i agree that it's VERY like Preen...which was weird becuase they showed back to back...
so it was almost like a continuation of the same show...
though Preen def went further with the sexiness factor...
