Tv Show - What Not To Wear

has anyone seen the $50,000 budget.. trip to paris episode? :woot: ?

i cannot love this show more than i already do...

Trinny and Susannah are fantastic and at the end of the episode the people feel fantastic about themselves and feel indulged with their "me" time (as one put it) among other things.
They look fantastic and the show is testament to the fact that you don't need a model figure to look and feel great about yourself. It reinforces that it is about embracing your assets and highlighting them; that proportion is important; that you don't have to be a fashion genius to look fab ...it makes style and fashion accessible to all, etc etc

I'm so envious of you guys watching new episodes...here we get re-runs - which i watch all the same! my weekly T&S fix!

I think everyone should take note of the rules for dressing their shape...

That $50,0000 show was KERAYZAY!!!

She was fitted at the Atelier of Christian Lacroix - and had like 10 Louboutin shoe boxes, I say at least 2 pairs of chloe shoes....I wanted to cry....the list goes on.

I've seen some of the before-and-afters and read synopsis of the show before, and I think they are awfully hard on personal style and tend to turn peas out of a pod, when all is said and done.

I am afraid I am going to have to agree. There are some on that show who have no concept of style whatsoever and by the end of two days and what amount was it? $1000? They miraculously have personal style is a little hard to stomach. :ninja: Or maybe it's just me. You couldn't pay me any sum of money to allow anyone to throw away my closet. On national television no less! I wonder if anyone has ever really turned down their offer.

And nothing was worn to its full potential...an incredible waste of good clothes and $50000. That's the problem with these shows. It doesn't matter what they buy; a person with no style, confidence, or charisma is not going to make $50000 worth of clothes look like $50000 worth of clothes. And everything is based on "rules". But I guess when you have people who are beyond clueless, it's necessary. But still...

Teach these people to look good with cheap clothes, then let them buy expensive stuff.

I want to get a bunch of old crappy clothes, dress as poorly as possible, get on the show, act clueless, then... :shifty:

Edit: I agree with AsYouLikeIt. Everyone comes out looking the same on all the shows like this...totally generic. Sometimes I'd rather see a person's horrible individual "style" than the carbon copy they've become.

I watch both shows all the time. In a way I think it is rude and makes people conform, but on the other hand it seems that all of these people want to conform. Either that, or they are brainwashed, because they seem genuinely happy about their new look and about the 'transformation inside'. I will say that the British are much more stubborn and hold onto their own looks much longer than the Americans. But I think Clinton and Stacey look better than Trinny(stop with the lip injections) and Susannah.
