UK Elle November 2016 : Amy Adams by Liz Collins

I like how "undone" this looks, no major make-up or hair, and she looks happy.

This feels so raw and vulnerable. I absolutely love this.

Looks like she's ready for a rainy day, and despite that, she's still smiling.

In the interview with Amy says she fully supports equality in pay for male and female actors, but maintains that the issue is complicated:

'The negotiation comes to a standstill and I have to make a choice, which a lot of women do. I can walk away. But I choose not to…This is an issue not just about women's pay; we need to work on how women are viewed in society and then the pay will be reflected in that…Right now time is more important to me. So that's what I negotiate because any time I'm working, I'm not spending with my daughter.'

She also talks candidly about being compared to other women in Hollywood, and jokes:

'I gave up wanting to look like Charlize when I was, like, 12. I have short legs, I'm athletic, I have pale skin that reacts to cold and hot moisture. You just have to accept who you are. In those comparisons, I always lost.'

And of the US Presidential campaign, Amy says, 'It is beautiful to tell your daughter that a woman is running for President. I get emotional. England has had female leaders for generations, but we have not had that.'

How did they make a Balenciaga coat look like a Burberry coat?

I am partial to Amy so I might pick this up. She's a great actress.

Wow, shocked at the minimal amount of coverlines! I quite like it actually. The preview looks better, the colours give me some form of energy for winter, while the covershot does nothing for me.

Not my taste. It's sad and undone cover. This blue everywhere doesn't work with her pale skin.

You can tell Christmas is a-comin' because the issue is full of perfume and accessory ads.

I didn't really care for the fashion editorials, but I did like the articles/interviews in this issue, nothing groundbreaking, but they were an easy read.

But I did notice that the next issue is due out on the 15th Nov, so with each issue, maybe they're slowly moving the release date back to earlier in the month.

It bugs me when the cover doesn't match its accompanying editorial. The first page seems to work; then the rest is formal.

Anyway, I like the cover idea but it does feel odd. For one thing, could be her leg on the left. I'd love to see this in person.

I'm truly shocked that British Elle seems to blatantly turn out such dull fashion features month after month. Literally flipped through this with nothing catching my eye. And it's not even as if the articles are redeeming in any way.
