It's certainly improving in quality I think, but compared to the other monthlies times really are hard for it. The circulation figures were really down for it when the results were last announced. I think what women once went to Marie Claire for is now so readily available online, and so it's proving hard for it stand up against the other fashion magazines.
They've really tried to up sales with so many cover gifts, and this is just another way to get it out. It's surprising as all of the gifts they give away are by good brands, and The Times really is a good newspaper to be teamed with to be giving away the issue with I suppose. I do hope it works for them, I have to say I quite enjoy Marie Claire. But I do wonder if I'd enjoy it quite as much if I was paying that cover price... 12 months for £12 was the subscription deal I secured the other month for it, which I'm more than happy to pay.
