UK Vogue August 2025 : Doechii by Elizaveta Porodina

Striking cover! I love the energy and the images published from the editorial so far, fantastic photo in Loewe - I get a strong sense of Tina Turner from Doechii there! I love that we finally live in a time where deserving musicians - of all color - get the recognition they deserve from Vogue. Whitney, Janet, Missy, Aaliyah, Nicki... to name a few who should've gotten this treatment at their time. You go, Doechii!

This is due out tomorrow, but someone selling a subscribers issue on eBay has posted the contents page, and the main editorial section seems to include NOTES ON VAMP by Dan Jackson, AROUND THE BLOCK by Barbara Probst, CALM IN THE STORM, an interview with the Danish Prime Minister, A DIFFERENT CLOTH, looking at new appointments of female creative directors, and EACH TO THEIR OWN by Amy Troost, with female designers (all sounds very much like shared content), ending with AWE OF THE ROSES, the England women's rugby team.

Love it.

I wish the shot where she's on the ground, wearing blue was the cover tho.
Congrats to Doechii.

Digital copy showing 166 pages, print page numbering is 160 pages. Inside front cover ad is Gucci Lido, so doesn't bode well for this issue being full of new season ads. Back page is new Dior (picture frames and the bending lens).

At the front of the issue is THE MVP by David Portela, with Jill Kortleve in sportswear, feel like I've seen this before. The Living section is the Bamfords estate in Provence (do you notice that even when UK Vogue believes itself to be more in touch with what's happening on the street, the interiors section doesn't tend to reflect this?)

NOTES ON VAMP is a studio editorial with a long cast, AROUND THE BLOCK is shot on the street, EACH TO THEIR OWN is the one we saw snippets of in US Vogue.

Maybe it's because autumn fashion always has that more dressed look, but the fashion in here is for adults, women who want to look confident, not slopping around in casuals all day. The cover story is still the best part of the issue.

With the exception of the new season's clothes, the fashion editorials are not very exciting but stale.

I like Notes On Vamp more than I thought I would, for such a simple editorial.

Elements of it personally appeal to me - but also because it uses models of different sizes and presents that without comment, as if it's the most natural thing in the world that they would all be in a Vogue editorial, which can be an effective way to normalise things.

I LOVE a good city-themed editorial!
