UK Vogue February 2016 : Dakota Johnson by Alasdair McLellan

God, even with more hair Lineisy still falls flat on her face. This girl was never meant for the fashion world!

i really like that edit probably because it's not typical uk vogue

That is one boring editorial, I don't like it at all. She needs a little more energy and the styling doesn't work for me either.

I could see 'Fresh Light' in i-D, Double, or Pop Magazine. His work is rather intimate but this is very well done. Damaris and Frederikke compliment one another. They even made that Roberto Cavalli dress look appealing.

What kind of hipster hell has been unleashed on this already sub-par magazine?

To be honest, none of the editorials look like they belong in Vogue. They have more of an i-D vibe. That said, I do love that shot of Damaris lying down in that red dress and the last one where she's with Federikke!

Lucinda's thoughts on the 'Colour by Numbers' edit by Demarchelier, posted above. The rest of the feature is worth a read!

Chambers prepares meticulously, commissioning one-off pieces, working repeatedly with an A-list cohort of photographers. But as luck would have it in the shoot featured in the documentary, “the model, Linesy Montero, wouldn’t take her ear-phones off, the set was hideous “and Patrick {Demarchalier] the photographer, was losing interest. Sod’s Law. My shoots never go wrong”. (Not true: there was the time with Mario Testino when none of the clothes turned up and Chambers had to talk an incandescent Emma Watson back onto the set).

The Emma Watson shoot referred to there was for her December cover a few years back, shot in Paris. All suitcases were lost en route to the shoot with literally thousands of pounds worth of samples being presumably stolen. So when the team arrived to Paris they had absolutely nothing to put on Emma and had to call all of the Parisian houses to beg for things to use.

Yikes, sounds like a waking nightmare! Can only image the amount of coaxing and damage control they've had to do.

To be honest, it was probably limited. They asked PR's to submit a costing sheet for the items lost so they could be claimed back on the insurance. I doubt many actually did go to the hassle of having to proof the worth of the samples and just let them off with it. It wasn't ideal to say the least..

wow Linesy sounds like she was being difficult! You're being shot by one of the top photographers for Vogue UK, you can definitely afford to take your headphones off and be professional.

This was my first thought! She's too relatively new to act this stroppy. No wonder her print work is almost nonexistent beyond US Vogue. She's probably being unofficially blacklisted.

Lucinda is very perceptive to pick up that Demarchelier lost interest. It shows when you look at those drab shots above. It's basically the same image, over and over.
