US Elle September 2019 : Angelina Jolie by Alexi Lubomirski

Angelina deserved a better photographer for this than Lubomirski - everything's always the same with him, especially when it comes to celebrities - nice enough for an advertorial, but otherwise boring and bland. She looks beautiful, but this is really a bit of a poor effort for a September issue.

Very beautiful cover. Sometimes simple just works best.

i don't understand, they don't have meetings before to show Nina the concept? How she approved this?....it's not the job of an editor to challenge their teams?.
This is perfect for InStyle, not Elle.

You know what you get with Angelina...she's very much in control of her image, but whatever even with the creative restrictions in place you get great covers out of her. It does make you wonder how good her editorial work could be/have been if she'd been more liberal with magazines' creative direction, like Nicole for example.

But she delivers more for Vogue US and still in safe place. So you think they sent her boards for mood and styling to be approved?....
i remember, i think Alexandra Schulman didn't put Jennifer Aniston on her magazine just because this insane control-freak obsession....

The cover is fine & she looks gorgerous. But her editorial is bland & boring.

It's good. It's how she looks now. It's defenitley a reflection of how she's changed over the years. She's not that sexual edgy woman anymore, she's grown up. My one critique is that they went overboard on the retouching, especially on her forehead.

Very beautiful cover. Simple, chic, effective and...Boring!
Is it me or on all the boring covers, they are wearing Dior? First Natalie, then Angelina...

This is very American Vogue, mid 00´s USVogue, before Mario overused the photoshop.

September this year is very serious it seems. No fun? No Glamour except for Instyle?

Angelina looks so beautiful! I agree that sometimes less is more and she didn't need anything, just that face of hers.

Anyone have any of the inside stories? Dying to see

This feels like something we'd of seen for September from any mainstream fashion glossy years ago (during the good old days of print magazines) - and I'm not mad at it. Alexi Lubomirski may not be the most groundbreaking of photographers but he's done Angelina justice here, think she looks radiant and makes the newsstand cover look very warm and inviting.

Got this in the mail today. There's a subscriber cover-the next to last picture in the editorial

Angelina has zero charisma. Zero. She never has done anything for me.

Lindsey’s editorial is quite nice actually. The landscape is beautiful and she looks good.
