It's a smart choice if selling physical copies is the priority - I'm fairly sure the Black Pink girls have enough of a US fanbase that they'd kick magazine sales up by 10k+ or so, if nothing else by buying multiple copies.
The newer kpop girl groups have a while to go to catch up with them, the one thing I have to give Lisa & co. is that they make their compulsory brand deal outfits look good and not like they're being worn by the clothes, and actually come off like they have some sense of personal style and not just being stylisted into one expensive and chaotic outfit after another (also their individual deal clothing picks were chosen in a way that still looked cohesive when they posed together as a group). Can't say the same for New Jeans, who looked fine when they were in their age-appropriate early styling but when presented as a group post-brand-deals, tend to have outfits that look like they're five people randomly grouped, not..... a group.
