She really has gone overboard with cosmetic touch ups but I have a soft spot for Gwen and I just can't hate this. I think it's a great cover - the kind of punk in a girly way that only she can do.

I'm kinda surprised they picked Gwen Stefani as WOTY. I don't mind it too much because who doesn't love seeing Gwen's smile on the cover

Same here, i mean some things are very obvious, yet i still can't help and like Gwen. Also it has a nice glowing vibe, this cover. The styling really is perfect for her.

What a disastrous layout

I've come to accept that the current incarnation of Gwen Stefani is plastic fantastic.

This looks like every Gwen Stefani magazine I've ever seen...nothing new....blah.

Yes!! And I find it terribly underwhelming for December. In fact, it looks more Seventeen than Glamour to me. It hope this art direction is a once-off effort because it's awful.

I actually think due to the rocky, headline-grabbing year she's had, she truly deserves this cover, although I'm personally finished with her. It started with that first Vogue cover. If you'd have asked me in the 90's if she'd ever try plastic surgery, I'd have responded with an indefinite 'no'! But I suppose people change. It's just awkward to see her insecurities manifest so clearly with this OTT obsession with plastic surgery. And the excessive public relationship isn't helping at all. Thank God there's still Shirley Manson to hold on to.

Is this a multi cover month? I see Simone Biles and Zendaya mentioned also.

I have an easier time accepting plastic Gwen than I do basic Gwen....it's heartbreaking to see her go from such a creative, energetic force to just another cheap, vacant Hollywood clone.

This styling fits the Gwen I love so no complains from me, even if her face looks so stiff.

That pink writing is so freaking sad. I don't want to get a part in it, ever.

Hm. I used to adore Gwen. She was such a free, creative spirit but it feels like she has totally changed now. And it's beyond me why she would be named woman of the year in 2016!?

Oh, Patrick Demarchelier!

Patrick's been impressing me to no end lately and the editorial above is no exception, whatsoever. Mathilde has photographed beautifully and complete with Jillian Davison's styling, everything makes for a truly wonderful fashion edit. The closeup shot of Mathilde in the lilac and the one where she's wearing the mint green are just screaming out to be made into covers.
