US InStyle February 2022 : Gal Gadot by Giampaolo Sgura

Terrible everything...jokes aside even Sgura is better than this....so my guess is the problem is Laura....

Looks like this was shot on the same location, with the same photographer, the same hair stylist, makeup artist, and same stylist as Gal’s Tiffany & Co. sponsored content released over a month ago. Lazy!

What is the publisher of Instyle?

Is he though? It takes actual effort to make someone as classically beautiful as Gal and come up with these results.

He should be thanking his lucky stars ADR made his career, his work is blander than Alexi Lubomirski's.

WTH is that cover?! she´s beautiful and charismatic and you produce this?

Oh, what a missed opportunity.

I think but of course perspectives are subjectives...Celebrities stylists shouldn't be doing editorial work....at least until they prove it to be ready for the task....i guess in this case the stylist weight much more than the photographer regarding final look...and then Laura finish to execute with the retouch and the poor photo editing....i don't remember much of his work for american magazines...

Instyle needs exactly that..style...on everything!

So it's a sponsored cover. Let's hope the licensing came really cheap and they invest the savings in next month's cover.

In the interview there's a lot of emphasis on Gadot's poor english language skills and how her lack of cultural competency caused the "Imagine" controversy amongst others. Gadot also claims she lost Miss Universe because she threw the competition on purpose and hints she may have won if she had really tried. Imagine she would made the the same analogy with a film/television role she lost out on.

She still comes across as tone deaf on a number of issues.

Check out this quote. Why would Laura Brown want to print this? Does she have contempt for readers?

LB: That's what I attempt to do with the magazine. It's like, "Yeah, here are these ladies and they have money and nice dresses, but the pressure on them and the violation of their privacy is bigger." Don't envy anyone.

GG: The bigger the success, the bigger the price.

It's just so vanilla. Outdated type of content Mario Testino put out on auto-pilot for American Vogue back in 2014. It's boring, it's time to step up the game and introduce something different at last.

Oh, what a Gal?!? Really? LOL Who is behind this copy? Should be some Badass Woman ;)

Testino would make it more sexy i guess and more fun...the problem in the end is what Laura wants with this magazine....she is vanilla for sure...

Actresses can be far more telegenic than they are photogenic, which seems entirely natural to me.

Speaking generally, ever since actresses started taking centre stage on the front of US Vogue, there's been greater expectation that every actress should be able to seamlessly step into the role of a fashion model, which might be a realistic expectation if modelling was your first career, but in other ways, it makes as much sense as thinking every fashion model can become an A-list actress. These things can be achieved, but not by everyone.

Someone on social media thought this was Victoria Beckham and now it's all I'm able to see myself! The beauty styling is all sorts of awful, that flat hair is an abomination. I'm usually down for something retro but mixed with Giampaolo Sgura's photography, this just ain't it.
