Where the hell is the effort in this?! Magazines are on the brink of extinction and instead of bringing out the best in people it's like everyone is just throwing up their hands and producing their worst. This is so lackluster it's almost offensive. With so much free online content they expect people to pay for this crap? Bye Laura.

Yes! I've noticed that as well. It's not so much the actual age of the women, but more the styling direction!

We now have this cover, but I've not even seen the Reese one out in my area yet. I also wonder whether most impulse buyers from the UK will buy the American issue now that the British one folded. If TimeInc was clever enough, they should reduce the price slightly and tap into that market.

Why did Laura leave Bazaar, when this is exactly Bazaar with a different backdrop? On the other hand, SJP can't make a good cover nowadays. Maybe it's the smile or the eye make-up, I don't know.

They should have used the first photo from her editorial as the newsstand cover and the fourth as the subscribers' cover. I love SJP but this is bad. The styling, the background, the hair... they're all awful. At least she looks happy.

I don't hate this but I'm not exactly impressed by Laura Brown's efforts at InStyle yet either. Early days but InStyle have had some fantastic covers this year and Brown's aesthetic seems to be very.. dated (which I'm amazed at). I'm interested to see how well Laura does at InStyle, I thought she'd have a much fresher and younger take on things but the future doesn't look so bright..

She's more occupied witb digital content than covers. There's been loads of Rachel Zoe, Marc Jacobs, Nicolas G and CH on their feeds, clearly she's raiding her Harper's little black book. My guess is Timecorp's execs will turn a blind eye to these awful covers purely because of InStyle's newfound aggressive digital footrint.
