^ Thanks for that! Not sure what is happening with the original post, it was okay for me when I posted it.
Nicole is looking a little stiff on the cover. I think it has to do a lot with the abilities of her facial muscles and the type of photography + light. Something softer and less artificial would have done wonders in my opinion.
The cover photo is a little stiff, but I love Nicole and am happy to see her after months of bad or so-so cover stars for InStyle. She's a genuine movie star.
well done Laura on the exquisite timing! Hitting newsstands just as Nicole is crowned as the undisputed queen of cannes 2017! i don't think Nicole has been this much of a hot commodity since the early 2000s when she won her oscar. The cover itself reminds me of her Vogue Australia cover from january.
Well.. apparently they never touched the cover with Photoshop. Laura Brown currently defending the cover on her Instagram, having replied to a few angry people complaining about the suspect airbrushing!
oh dear. I see the pic now. Really not a great cover AT ALL, in my opinion. Not a flattering pic of Nicole. I think it's the hair that's throwing me off more than anything else.
I believe it's not heavily photoshopped. Nicole's face in UHQ candids looks photoshopped. haha. That's just what her face is now. I actually think she's settled into a kind of augmented-but-still-attractive version of her face. On Big Little Lies, during the promotion for it, at Cannes. Yes, it's obviously a face that's been worked on - but she looks more and more like HERSELF than she has in recent years. So it's been a complete pleasure to see her.
She always looks the same, I have zero interest in her. She was beautiful once but she overdid it with plastic surgery, she looks frozen most of the time now. Too bad, she is a wonderful actress though.
My issue is actually not the photoshop (photoshop? botox? what's the difference!). The autumnal styling with these bright colours just don't match. Very dissapointed that Will Davidson's name is attached to this. Either Laura Brown is keeping it Australian, or Nicole specifically requested him. Interesting.
Laura Brown have 9 covers to date, not one of them featuring a woman of colour. By July last year 4 out of the 7 were women of colour. Once again, this type of dismissive tactics is very US Bazaar, they've not had one woman of colour in all of 2016 (unless you count Kanye)!!
