US Vanity Fair July 2007 : The Africa Issue by Annie Leibovitz

I love the concept of the series. Everyone is like 'whispering' something to the other coverstar on the next cover, love it!

My favourites are: Bush and Tutu; Madonna and Angelou; Alicia and Jay-Z.

I'm disappointed by the one where Iman is the main focus. All the coverstars are wearing 'normal' clothing, and she all of a sudden a wearing something African inspired. Too bad the had to use a stereotype :(

btw, I accidentally switched covers # 4 & 5, so it looks out of order, it's too late to change it, maybe one the mods can alter it...

ugh, their sense of moral superiority is burning me from the screen

and the photos dont look too different from the gap (red) ads (surprise surprise they are both by leibowitz)

I like the idea, but I think the covers are a bit too cluttered with writing...it makes the faded word of Africa seem unimportant.

George W. Bush and Condi Rice? :woot:

I likely won't buy the issue, but the covers are nice.

What's the 'Africa Issue' talking about?

I wondered about that - about what the people on the cover are supposed to be whispering to each other. It looks like they're passing on a piece of gossip rather than posing each other questions of international concern.

For Miwa & anyone else who wants to read it:flower:
