US Vogue December 2009 : Cate Blanchett by Annie Leibovitz

Finally! I'll say what I said before... I like it but there's nothing special about it. It reminds me of her US VOGUE Dec 2004 cover and BAZAAR cover. Nice seeing Cate though.

As for the Lily Cole ed, I think she and Gaga worked it! I loved it! Excited to see more editorials!

I don't see why people are complaining about Leibovitz's fashion eds...IMHO she's probably the only photographer who can do them as well as she does. Can you imagine Testino or I&V shooting this ?

Actually, I would love to see what I&V would do with a US Vogue cover given the opportunity. I think Annie has a unique style, but it's been used on Cate one too many times...unless Cate requests her or something.

I like Cate's ed. It's nothing new, but to me that doesn't make it any less nice. I like the two crazy expressions shot.

mikel I meant that if Testino or I&V shot that particular ed (concept, set, styling, cast) it could have turned out *interesting* to say the least...I completely understand your preference on their work, you just misunderstood me

I hope Daria's ed isn't an exact copy off her April ed, what a waste of paper and of M&Ms talent that would be

And the sad thing is, it was already done by VF this year, for their February issue. Same thing! Her at the theather, actually they did a better spread, it was way more fashion worthy than this redux!

I cant believe Wintour would think this is in any way shape or form worthy of doing again, and for December issue, so unoriginal. In fact whole issue is a major let down, only couple of articles i like. Overall its lackluster...

They had Cate to work with and they couldn't even come up with something original? What a waste

Daria's ed had been posted here at tFS but it was deleted. Fortunately I managed to see it in time. It looked good but a bit too similar with the previous one in the April issue.

the cover as well as cate's pics except the black-and-white one look similar to some pics of vogue us taken by annie. the one cate lying remind me of a calvin klein ed with natalia by meisel

This issue looks so theatrical.... I agree that those photos (including the Lily editorial) are more Vanity Fair than Vogue.
