US Vogue February 2017 : Dakota Johnson by Patrick Demarchelier

So much better than her first one by Testino. No interest in Dakota or her movie though.

Nope, still not on board. I thought her first cover was bad. This doesn't look like Vogue at all, very amateur. Anna's clearly over it.

I actually quite like Dakota, but I'll admit that marketing (Gucci, and the fact that she's regarded as 'the voice of a generation') dictated that she gets this cover instead of Viola.

Trying to be hip and young, but it's not working because US Vogue isn't hip and young. I particularly don't like her hairstyle, it's trying too hard to fit the styling of the clothes.

ugly

and not styled by Tonne? is that normal?

That midwest mom hairdo kills the whole thing for me.

I refuse to believe it is actually Dakota who scored February again for another disastrous movie. And even if I wasn't annoyed by this I still would have hated the cover. The wig is repulsive.

So much better than her first cover, HOWEVER, this looks like a fan made cover from a photo of hers for Hollywood Reporter. The wig is tragic, and the photo is uninspiring.

The layout is tragic as well. The white text used for Dress Up! Is tragic. It would have been so much better if they used gold for that particular text. It would've added energy to the cover. But no.

I strongly dislike the hair, it's very unfortunate. I also wish US Vogue would stay away from the serif/Didot font for their cover lines - I don't think it suits the magazine at all, I much prefer their usual typeface.

However, I do like what she's wearing and the colour scheme is beautiful.

See, I knew she was going to get the cover for February and watch her get Glamour for March again or Cosmo. This is 1000% better than her last cover which was so bad, but why not Viola Davis?

Overall, I like it (they could have photoshoped the hair to make it silkier though). I was expecting far worse so my expectations were low... the editorial is quite meh, even Testino can do better.
There was no other actress promoting something in February that she got the cover?

She looks so awkward in the cover, I think the second pic would be a better choice.

And the 5th pic is a mess lol.

That's a very nice cover ed. Day-Lewis being included in two shots is so random though!

The second picture would have been an amazing cover! I love the red background and the movement in the shot.

It's sad that being the lead of that movie will get her a cover. What is Vogue really about at this point

So this means Viola didn't book any covers leading up to the Oscars? Insanity. I hope she lands one when/if she wins.

That editorial is actually good. I like the randomness of it. However, I would've preferred an outdoor shot for the cover tbh
