US Vogue March 2025 : Sabrina Carpenter by Steven Meisel

Since the SS Dolce & Gabbana show last year it was expected to see a Madonna themed cover. I'm so glad it's her!!! I hate most of today's music, but the last couple of albums of her are a masterpiece and my current jam. Love the glamour, the humor and the nostalgia in her imagery and work. Also Sabrina makes more sense than Beyoncé because she has more global impact than the second. In Argentina we barely know what Beyoncé did after Single Ladies (or even further, Crazy in Love). What a happy day, and it was a wish to see her by Meisel. Not even Taylor or Rihanna worked with the Maestro at their peak. I knew that Meisel loved this girl, she's very his type of pop singer.

yeah the amount of retouch was unnecessary...is it possible that Raul's team added retouch to the already retouch images?....

Jayne was a beauty icon, so should be flattering as well :) though the inspo it's Madonna's VI cover story 34 years ago.

Here's full video. I went to the floor after hearing "There's a famine of beauty". Sounds like Andre Leon Talley!

Waiting for aracic, vogue28 and justaguy's words. They would love this as myself ❤

Legit only know that "Cappuccino" song that she did, but hey, am quite out of the loop with most current pop stars. The cover and the accompanying images are fine; average by Meisel's current standards.

It grosses me out that he's Ib got to work with Steven though . How is this hack essentially a global Vogue contributor when he's the EIC of a magazine under another publisher?! Not to mention his work looks costumey at best.

Okay hear me out. Sabrina is everywhere. How about putting Demi Moore on a cover of Vogue, for once? Or Mikey Madison? Sabrina is vanilla ugh I hate it here

Omfg you guys are NEVER happy, for once in almost a decade we got high glamour by Meisel on the cover of US Vogue, isn't this exactly what you've all been begging for?

She looks like a little girl playing dressup in her mother's closet, the mother being Madonna

High Glamour? where? Should we love it on default only because its shot by Meisel? Sabrina is vanilla and bland, its like vogue decided that gen z girlies are their audience smh

The truth? I found Kaia Gerber's December cover more pleasing, this one doesn't work for me

I’m not in love with the cover as something is off with her expression but I love everything else!
it’s a flattering homage to Madonna and Marilyn…

now, I do agree that the photoshop is uncontrollably insane.
Meisel, sweetie, relax.

this cover will definitely please her fans and sell well.

I mean, even if you find her bland and vanilla, I don't see how one could deny that the style of the photo is glamorous. Full beat, hair for days, "sexy" pose and styling, Meisel lighting, airbrushed within an inch of her life. This cover is the textbook definition of glamour photography. I like some of her songs well enough. I wouldn't call myself a fan, per se, but I think she is a star at this point and I do like the Madonna angle here. It's classic.

Sometimes I find the gen-z celebrities are bit annoying myself, as someone in my 30s. But thinking back, weren't young women always the most common cover subjects? Sabrina is a couple of months shy of 26. Were boomers saying "ugh, these gen-x stars! Ugh, these millennial stars!" when the 90s and early 2000s supers were getting their covers, when celebrities like Gwyneth and Winona and Angelina were getting covers at the same age Sabrina is now? I feel certain they were. Someone can probably easily prove me wrong if I am wrong, but it was primarily women in their 20s and 30s getting covers for all of Vogue's history, I believe? And with each generation, the cycle repeats and it probably feels somewhat unprecedented each time to longtime readers.

Personally I do tend to like it when someone older and more established gets a cover. I don't always like the results, but it's exciting to see people like Erykah Badu, SJP, Frances McDormand, and Miuccia Prada on the cover, solo, as they have been in recent years.

Well as a Meise hater, this is NOT what I’ve been begging for. Ever.

One thing that I like about this cover is the amount of text that it has. They should keep it this way because their recent covers look like supplements for the lack of blurbs. At least people will know what they're getting aside from Sabrina Carpenter's cover story.

And I'm happy that Meisel shot this cover. I'll be frank, I've seen a lot better from him, but it's still a decent one. I'm quite surprised that Sabrina landed a March cover! Good for her.
