US Vogue October 2012 : Keira Knightley by Mario Testino

I think it's one of the dullest celeb editorials I've ever seen in this magazine...

Grace is a couture magician! She sold these pieces well to me! Although, it should`ve been shot outdoors, like the one on the 3rd picture! The background is disgusting and very amateur. Mario Testino is just not doing it anymore for US Vogue! Mert & Marcus should be a regular!

I actually love the simple background in the studio shots. Hardly disgusting or amateur at all. It makes the extraordinary haute couture pieces stand out. I think the plain background quite effectively evokes the mood of Irving Penn's classic couture shoots from the 50's and 60's.

absolutely gorgeous, can't wait for the HQ, especially the one of chanel wedding dress

God do I love Keira. She's stunningly beautiful and she is a very talented, diverse actor. Much more talented than someone that young and pretty has to be  I like the cover. And I anticipate the film.

I'm surpised that I like them as well, much more than the outdoor shots. No complaints from me everything in Keira's ed look great. Now waiting for Lindbergh's ed.

I third that, i think it really works, she looks stunning, although the video looks even better.

Great cover and main editorial. I'm glad the couture days are not over.
I can't see what's so disguting about the background either. In fact, I love when Mario goes to the studio.

Grace really brings out the most beautiful images using couture. Normally I'm not a big fan of Keira, but her editorial is stunning. A lot of the shots are very unlike Testino which I like here.

when does this issue hit newsstands?? i just went to my local B&N and NOTHING! And it hasn't come in the mail yet and I am getting restless!

I'm sorry, but Keira's editorial makes no sense to me. Please don't tell me that's it because a studio shoot and then one shot of her in the forest plus two images of Jude and that other actor guy equals one big mess. It doesn't have any focus!

I was a bit wary at first as i normally like couture shot in lavish settings, rather then plain backgrounds and mario testino is really not my favourite photographer.............but i find this lovely!
The minimalist background really helps to maximise Keria's beauty and the amazing details in the pieces she is wearing. I also love the addition of the outdoor picture, the whole look is just ravishing!

Skimmed the issue at the store, and boy what a boring issue (editorial wise), and this is coming from a devoted Vogue fan.

Jake's story has one in-studio shot with him sitting, so does Elizabeth Olsen's feature (as expected).
There is a great shot Tim Tebow lifting a tractor tire, shirtless.

Ryan Murphy's ed, is pretty straight forward, think Oliver, Joseph, and Anthony's shot from "The Vogue 120" feature from the last issue. And NeNe is present.

"Lost Highway" is probably the only spread I enjoyed. Very mid-western, two lovers on a road trip. No color (from the shots I glimpsed).

Previews (aka what I managed to snap before store owner caught me)

^Thanks very much for that.

Elizabeth Olsen looks stunning.

The New Normal shoot is quite nice. Wish the male leads looked a bit better in the shot though :ninja:
