I suspect it's because Val is incredibly perfect looking. Her face is symmetrical it seems and it's not 'interesting' enough for people. It's the same with Hana S's face. Models who are a bit 'quirky' 'unusual' 'odd' looking tend to get noticed. Well that's my reasoning....
