Valentino Haute Couture F/W 2023.24 Paris

His need to do this many looks for a couture show is at his disservice. There are some interesting propositions, but because there's so many pieces, each one that has some potential are severely half baked. The odd moments of slouchiness isn't a good enough excuse to disguise things don't exactly fit or work right as well. A massive waft of laziness is in the air with this collection.

What could have been is so diluted to the point of this looking like a ready to wear collection with a great backdrop. He also isn't the colourist he thinks he is.

Also, thank you @vogue28 for the images. Once again, doing the Lord's work here this couture season!

We all know that person who uses big words to appear very intelligent but don’t say nothing substantial…

This is how I feel about this collection. The set is grand, the music is supposed to provoke an emotion and then he comes out with the whole atelier so you kind of feel trapped to like it (or if you attend, to stand). Then they are going to pull the « hours card »…

‘All for quite a forgettable collection. It’s fine with a lot of « effets de styles ». There’s nothing wrong with designing for clients . Armani does that fabulously…

‘Jeans in Couture is not revolutionary, neither is this approach to nonchalance. I think there’s a statement but I don’t think I get which one.

Nevertheless, the best looks were the ones that were very easy: the 3 first looks, the big voluminous gowns with pockets, the looks on Anne V and Yasmin, the blue chiffon dress and the look on Vittoria. The menswear was not necessary and most of the collection was quite boring....

‘There are fabulous archives at Valentino. I think his handwriting has gotten tired as of late. That’s the perfect occasion to go though the archives and build a collection on one dress or one moment that relates to the original heritage of the brand.

where to begin. The whole show feels unnecessary. The set is useless at this point. The collection has no direction whatsoever. I really hate the concept of jeans in couture because it's so passe. Like, "groundbreaking" NOT! And if I see another rose-headwear and a gown together I would just lost total respect from him.

Mens looks are the worst. Literally please don't embarrass yourself. It's kind of evident that both MCG and PPP probably work best together. I mean say what you will, Maria literally created the Toile de Joie trend and it's so iconic that it became Dior's new iconic pattern. Her bags are also selling extremely well and the shoes too. PPP doesn't have that kind of touch. Or maybe he hires wrong people. But his works seems be more about "talking" more than the "action"

Another greatest hits collection. I guess they are still selling these pieces. Overall its a coherent collection of Couture looks for everyday wear. That caftan to run the kids to school, the blouse and shorts for shopping anf errands the blue ruffle mini for evening dinner with the husband.

thanks for the info but theyre both the lowlights of the collection.

imagine telling an oligarchs wife that we have some upcycled jeans for her. That is purely for the tiktok class who think the billionaire class really care.

Note: a lot of diversity on the catwalk but not in the team that took the bow — not evidently so, at least.

Collection decent enough, easy on the eye. Heads up to Matthew Blazy’s trompe l’œil separates being on a few couture Moodboards! this season.

please with the diversity nonsense. PPL is only interested in white women feminism from 1972….

Literally who is mathew blazy?

Can he just do the old Valentino for the couture collections? I can’t distinguish whats RTW and Couture anymore (quite the same with the old Valentino)
