Valentino HC S/S 2012 Paris

Well looks like someone's grandmother is going to be missing some drapes and bedsheets tonight.

I agree with what most of you said. It's not a terrible collection really. There are some ugly pieces, but also some really pretty ones and a lot of just inoffensive looks. But it's just so boring. They just do not know when to move on. First few seasons it was all lace, now it's these long virginal cult gowns. And it's just same look over and over again. I'm more bored than anything else.

You took the thoughts right out of my head - I couldn't agree more.

Some pieces in this collection are particularly delicate and empyrean, but I no longer have a strong reaction to Valentino. I used to be engrossed in the beauty but now it feels somewhat dull.

Something I've learned from walking into a Valentino store is that there's so much more to a Valentino dress than what you see in runway pictures. It's not just the superb details, but it's the balance and perfection of every aspect of the dress with a simplicity and subtlety that is truly difficult to imitate. I can see why any girl would dream of owning Valentino. I'm sure that this can be true to Valentino couture as well, and probably to an even greater extent than it is true for RTW. To me, this collection looks beautiful in the pictures, but I'm sure that it's infinitely better in person.

I totally agree with you !!:flower:
