Valentino Resort 2026 Milan

It is a fun collection, but Michele needs to push his leathergood team to come up an IT bag as soon as possible. So far his bag offering is still very week. That suede fringe bag feels very Ulla Johnson...Or he needs an IT sneaker.

I don't think it has been mentioned before, but Michele's work sometimes seems inspired by Françoise Hardy. If that is the case, he should develop the reference furtner.

The collection is a mess. Michele hasn’t tamed his magpie instincts. Some say that he shouldn't, arguing that Valentino needs a showman. I am not convinced. For one thing, this is not a resort collection. It feels like a reception at Villa Medici, over-perfumed and occasionally exhausting.

Editing is his weak spot, as usual. When he's disciplined, the result is polished couture. When ornamentation wins, the result is eye fatigue.

I'm not buying this:
- Menswear is a disaster and typical thrift shop / grandpa dusty trunk collection that screams Gucci circa 2018...we are in 2025, it's time to move on
- Womenswear is great for the gown / dress section (good reinterpretation of Garavani archives), however the daywear looks still feel very Gucci-thrift shop coded...I see improvements however
- Again, the biggest flops are in the accessories department, why are they still pushing those suede Nellcote tote boho bags? They flopped hard since day one. Those variations of the Vain bags are also very underwhelming and straight plain ugly. Again, as I have already stated, I would push and invest on the Viva Superstar, since JWA will probably discontinue the Book Tote at Dior and that bag segment will lose the bestseller and greatest competition

Chock full of great separates. He tried to control his colorways and produced a lot of timeless pieces exquisitely crafted in Italy.

That crinkled plisse tunic with wasp waist is exquisite. The opening red dress is bombshell and worth his salary for the year. They need to get some Italian starlet in it and spend to make sure everyone sees it.

If Valentino can just take styling away from him, and mix in with some less-dusty separates, the whole thing might just work.

They need to hire a different menswear designer. Even Harry styles has moved on..

In terms of status symbol, Dior and Valentino are not exactly competing for the same spot when it comes to accessories.

How about designing an original bag for Valentino for once? A bag that is not another derivative of a Chanel bag. Because there’s already Saint Laurent for this.

I like the concept of the presentation, but it's exhausting. Is he still trying to get fashion gays to wear those bags and shoes so they can become 'it' items afterward? :ninjas:

This Valentino is not happening. Looks so tired, uninspired and boring. Who needs this?!? What a waste of fabrics.
Styling is horrible. The pictures are so cheap and bad. Not even worth us commenting.
