This is a reminder of Valentino's fun era with Bill King, Oliviero Toscani and Steven Meisel. But in this case you can only see the fun in the video. The print ads are very serious.

These are pretty fabulous - and in fact, I think Gigi really shines here!

The print ads and especially the video, are just the right amount of weird to feel compelling, interesting, fresh and, as a viewer, makes me intrigued and curious. It's a good mix of classic Valentino, retro fashion photography, and contemporary attitude. Good work, here.

Only complaint - to echo Lola - is that the accessories (shoe included) are pretty hideous. I wouldn't want "chic" bags here, a la Celine, but they really could stand to make bags and shoes that looks less merch-driven and department store.

Gigi was obviously thrown in there for added exposure for Valentino. She doesn't hurt the campaign or bring anything amazing, she's doing her job which is selling the clothes.
