Valentino S/S 2023 by Steven Meisel

It's not as good as it used to be, but I feel like Valentino has been put back on track and going in the right direction, Zendaya hasn't added anything in the last few campaigns!

Nice to see models though the angle in the first shot makes the girl in front look rather short.

A little bit underwhelmed by this with such random casting but I'm getting hints of either Steven Meisel or Ethan James Green with the photography, so I'm looking forward to more and seeing how this campaign unfolds.

Are we having a Meisel renaissance at Valentino? I'm all for it, though I wish we would revisit the idea of glamour and yachts and poolside parties instead. However, these portraits are quite nice. Much more enjoyable than the past couple of season.

It is Steven Meisel

Who are the models? I think one is Alan Szewczyk, one is Diane Chiu.

I'm so bothered by the unretouched creases in the bottom of the backdrop.

This is photographed by Steven Meisel, as confirmed by V Magazine:

What remains glistens with the promise of rebirth. Picking up its remnants, Steven Meisel and Pierpaolo Piccioli merge their visions to address fashion’s progress as a portrait. Capturing the new generation, it harnesses the spirit of what today’s youth is all about. Equally unabashed by flaws as relentlessly driven by expression, the ethos of their latest campaign is all about unbridled individuality.

It’s just Meisel redoing his own “The Group” shoot from Vogue Italia 1999. Only minus any actual point of view rendering it completely bland.

I still have that issue and it's got much more substance than this campaign. Even though Meisel is my favorite photographer ever, he doesn't bring anything to the table. As years go by it feels more blatant.

The artwork doesn't help either and the tattoos are way too distractive.

I agree so much with @guimon! this cast does absolutely nothing for me.
