Vampires - what would they wear today?

lol I never thought of Karl as a vampire before. Totally makes sense!

New season, revamped vampires! (pun intended )
Best done by Ann Demeulemeesxter so far...

What's great about the 'Vampire' aesthetic is that so many different styles fit into it:

Glamorous (Chanel, Dior)

Romantic (Givenchy, Lanvin...)

"Va-va-voom" Vampy (Anything a la Dita von Teese)

Punk (Ann Demeulemeister)

(80s) Rock (I've seen some interesting Balmain)

Sexy/Perverse (Gaultier)

Regal (Long live McQueen!)

Modern (drapey Donna Karen, Gucci)

Emo/Burnout (Alexander Wang)

"Ethnic"/Non-western/Boho (again, I'm recalling some Gaultier)

Grecian

----

There's also a huge variety among time periods and settings as well.

Personally, I'd like to think of a desert-dwelling vampire, setting in on hapless nomads at night, reaking havoc across the Sahara (yes, I have a very active imagination)

I think some of the latest Dior collection could easily be transfered into a Vamp's collection. It wouldn't be 'dark,' but sheer lace and leather? I can just imagine a femme fetale using it while playing with her food.

They would probably wear something Victorian Goth mixed with modern styles.

I could imagine them wearing some Alexander McQueen and Balmain.

Whenever I think of vampires, I remember the illustrations in Vampire: The Masquerade book. It's a role playing book that I stole from an older cousin and the illustrations are so sexy and fun and 80s. I'm going to look for it but I think I got rid of it in a fit of spring cleaning.

I think the introspective, intellectual would wear Helmut Lang (when it was designed by Helmut Lang), and sort of look/be like Andrew Eldritch from Sisters of Mercy in the More video, black hair and black aviators.

It's even scarier if he smiles.

In the true blood books, vampires only wear black and leather to please the human "tourists" at the vampire bar just because that's how humans expect vamps to dress.

The only thing they WOULDNT wear though, is white just cos their skin is already so pale!!

I designed a few months ago a collection with a modern vampire in mind so for me..theyd wear something like this

I love the contrast between dark clothes and pale skin, with little or non visible makeup. Black is dramatic, paleness is sexy. Love the vampy look when not overdone, when it´s subtle and not costumey.
