Vanity Fair February 2023 : Channing Tatum by Mario Sorrenti

I'm more interested in the magic brought back by Mario Sorrenti! Love the cover. If Vogue is on their irrelevant artist of the day shtick, at least someone should utilise the good photographers with talent and experience and I'm happy to see Sorrenti work his magic - even if it is for Vanity Fair, a publication I don't generally care about. Channing looks great, naturally.

The torn holes in the crotch area of his pants....

Screenshot_20230117_184603.jpg same colors and layout as the previous cover with margot robbie and same photographer and same stylist, so boring, i really hope that the Hollywood issue cover goes back to Annie leibovitz , i miss her covers so much!!but I'm happy to see Mario Sorrenti

I think the cover is fine & this image could fit so well as a cover of GQ.

I don't like him but sometimes looks hot in editorials but in this case... the cover is interesting and the editorial is lifeless.

It's a nice counterpart for Margot's cover. Sometimes I can't believe he was a fashion model, but as most of, sometimes he photographs so well. His face and pose looks so good here. In a perfect world this would have been Details material.

Why does he always do that thing with his lips? Someone told him it's 'hot'?

Surprisingly interesting styling from the vastly overrated Cortina whose go-to is putting male celebrities in collared shirts, denim, and black briefs then call it a day.

I find Channing Tatum's career interesting. He's hardly done much of note but somehow still pull crowds despite disappearing for long stretches. Pretty privilege I suppose, lol.

Channing has always been a sex symbol so I’m no surprise with the styling at all. It’s the “macho male” look and it will sell a lot for sure.

Review:

96 pp

-"Pariahs in Paradise," the Trump-Kushner marriage that's "thriving in exile"
-"Power Chords" Willow Smith shot by Adrienne Raquel, styled by Ronnie Hart
-"The Montreal Mafia Murders"
-"The Role of Her Life," excerpt from an Elizabeth Taylor biography with a pic by Helmut Newton
-another one of those stories where a writer makes a travelogue out of investigating MAGA supporters, gun rights activists, etc

The February issue of AD was only about 90 pages as well. Can’t remember it ever being under 100. Ad spend must be way down at Condé titles for the month.

This seems to be the fourth time he's been on the front of Vanity Fair. I had no idea, the other covers never registered with me.

This magazine is on its last legs if the US edition page count is 90odd pages. I wonder if a more centrist approach might've saved them since everything is so polarised in America.
