Ha! Got my subscrip copy this morning, and this issue was welcomely thin, in that I was able to read most of it by this afternoon.
The Tina Fey article introduced me to someone who's been working hard for years, and now that she's getting the attention, remains modest and professional - though I think the writer struggled with that; because Fey is devoid of the usual ego and scandal that most stars have, there's less to discuss. Instead, there was endless repetition of things, like the idea that she's a bit German and has Germanic personality traits. It's a bit of a nebulous thing to say, and not worth saying three or so times in the one interview. But the interview was magnificent when Fey was speaking for herself.
The Yves article was interesting, recounting how he and Bergé created their art collection over the years, up until the twilight years of Yves' life, and why Bergé is selling. And there are pictures, of course, of the rooms, the items.
Other articles are about that guy who claimed he was a Rockefeller, how of the refurb of the Plaza in NY has gone wrong, a plane accident over Brazil, how bankers are living now that their world has fallen apart, and some mother who went undercover to get her son acquitted of murder. Oh, and a look at the partnership of 'Pat and Bill', William F Buckley and his wife Patricia. Katie Couric does the Proust Questionnaire.
